Every year in my city a festival of alternative theatre is held. It openly solicits for volunteers. However, volunteers notoriously get "robbed" at this festival. By "robbed", I do not mean pickpocketed. They get robbed on the System, if you know what I mean. If you do not know what I mean by the usage of the term "rob", find out, for reasons of your own safety!

Young people who want more out of the System, controlled by "stonecutters", (e.g. "advancement" at university), are encouraged to volunteer there.

Almost every major event in town is put on by "stonecutters" (i.e. Freemasons and related groups).

Volunteer co-ordinators preside over a portion of this type of theft.

I am sitting here watching a blizzard raging outside, and I wondered how many folks know where people can go if they are homeless or recently fell on hard times? Does your community, in general, reach out to those who are disadvantaged (homeless, low income, recently laid off, recently divorced, etc.)? I moved from a town where every church had a food and clothing bank prepared, to one where neighbors do not even know each other. How do you think your community rates? Do you participate?

My husband's late grandfather was a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was also a past Faithful Navigator and owned the sword/baldric/cape/chapeau.
We now have the sword and associated baldric and have been thinking of mounting them in a display case with a picture of the owner in his parade regalia.

I wanted to ask any K of C members out there if this is appropriate use of the sword/baldric or if there is any protocol associated with their display?

I'm a Methodist and a woman, I haven't a clue.

I have started a webpage for Unicef and I am looking for ideas to get donations. If anyone has donated before, why have you done it and what are some reasons you would do it again. My webpage is www.unicefusa.org /totonline /kevmo1977 no spaces though, i had to put the spaces or they deleted the address.
Give it a look and maybe suggest an idea to me. I am not asking for a donation, i don't think that would be allowed on here, but i can't stop you if you do.

How many percent of your income is spent to help poor people ?
Don't you feel responsible about that ?
Is it only the governments who shall worry about them?

Hello friends, can anybody suggest me where can I get details & tips for organising an entertaining community function?

Well mainly we are required to organise a sports festival, & we are in need of some innovative ideas which can make this festival attractive & entertaining, & generate some income for charity.

Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

At my school I am hoping to start a program for the kids entering high school (grade 8). It's not going to be where a teacher just tells they kids to not bully because it is bad. Instead it will be taught by older students like myself. I hope to include fun activities that help the kids get to know eachother before any judging occurs. Hopefully it will help them relize where everyone is coming from and to meet new people before groups and "cliques" start forming, that way the need to bully could start to be stopped. Does anyone have any ideas?? Or any programs similar to this??

I love helping others and especially children and I didnt know if anybody knows of a place you can make liek blankets, hats,... for children in homeless shelters and than donate/mail the items to them. If you have any website links,... that would help out alot!!

I always help children with cancer as in sending them money to St Jude Childrens Research Hospital, but I want to actually give them a item they can remember and keep with them. Thank you!!

I do not have credit so a loan could be out of the question. Are there any charitable or church organizations who can help me?
