I've just started trying to get a few things together-it's a mess right now as I have no idea how to set up a website, but I'm working on it. I'm looking for people who are interested in just helping out, I don't really have specific jobs or anything like that as I've just started. But I just wanted to let people know. So if you'd like to help me do anything please let me know, even if you just want to be updated with the progress of the site. I just don't want this to be a dead-end project. If anybody has been looking for an internet-based way to volunteer let me know, maybe if we get enough people interested this thing can really take off! The website is http://www.picture-perfect.bravehost.com -I know it's very rought right now, but like I said I'm working on that. Ok, due to the recent-ish deaths of 3 elderly family members, we have over 40 bin liners of old but good quality, good condition clothes. Its way too many to drop at a charity shop in one go, so I was wondering if any one here knows any legitimate charities that can either collect or have a depot/drop off point, in the nth london/hertfordshire area? We do get leafleted by these fraudulent guys, but I want the clothes to be genuinely used by people who need them for FREE, or recycled to make money for the charity.

If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

I have been in development sector for last 2 years and have worked with Senior Citizens Organ,also I have been regularly following and posting articles regarding senior citizens through your esteem group.



Since last 3 years there is boom in Old age Homes/Retirement Township and there are lots of mushrooming so called township coming up,but am worried with laws governing these bodies.



I would like to know through your group following in the interest of our Elders:

What are the permission required to start and run Old age home, Retirement Township and Day care centre.

What are the minimum facilities to be provided for the residents and the care seeker for an Old age home, Retirement Township and Day care centre?

Is there any monitoring agency for Old age home, Retirement Township and Day care centre?

What action can be taken on the promoter/builder/association/trust/Individuals if they default/misuse the set laws, payments, service etc

Where and Whom to Complaint regarding difficulties/ill treatment/misuse/harassment/illegal problems at Old age home, Retirement township and Day care centre.

Is there any medical body permission required for the homes/day care centres giving Medical/Health care facility?



We as concern citizens/groups/associations should come together and help our seniors to live in Peace and Dignity.

There are 80,000 registered charities in Canada who report $11 billion in donations annually. Donations given is not all ending up in the hands of those who really need it? Don't you think it would be better if people started giving money directly to those who are poor? People could try to find out who the poor families are and transfer money directly into the poor families bank accounts. Approximately $11 billion donations annually in Canada alone.

Rich get richer = Poor get poorer
Charities = Billion Dollar Industry

Charities should be researched thoroughly because there are numerous unethical charities.

ok i volunteered at a library one time but its no fun and i really want to volunteer at a ranch where i can ride horses to help them get there exercise or just walk them and feed calves stuff like that but can i get volunteer hours for that and also where would i find a person who would be looking for someone to help them with this stuff??? would the animal shelters know as people adopt from them oh and ill be in sherwood AR

I pointed out to a man in the store that his toddler son not having shoes or socks on in February (cold weather) was abusive. He yelled at me to mind my own business. When does it become "everyone's" business? Do individuals wait until a child is mortally wounded to speak up? I GOT OFF IN NOTTING HILL (TODAY, TUESDAY 12TH), I WAS HEADING CAFE NERO, THE ONE NEAR THE NOTTING HILL TUBE STATION.
