I am looking for a place in Covina, CA (91723) that would be great for teenagers to volunteer at. I know of an Interact club that is looking for more volunteering oppurtunities.

Iraq or any other place really...In the past I've participated in organizations that write letters of appreciation and prayer to send to American soldiers overseas. I think it's a wonderful idea and I'd love to do it again but I don't know how to go about it...I don't know where to send them. If you have any info, please share!

Its not even human! Dont you think worthy questions and answers should recieve more than just a messge from a machine, askin you to brag about it ...?!?!
I believe stars make us feel good but we need something for the answers as well - something more human maybe someone from the Yahoo staff should do something bout it.

I used to volunteer with a Baptist church which I've now left. I did several activities within this church, and I enjoyed doing them at the time, but I found it became like unpaid work after awhile because others would just EXPECT it and hardly give you any thanks, you were just SUPPOSED to be there. Because of this, I eventually dropped activities one by one and pardon the pun, they gave me hell for it. I've now left this church, and I know of other churches/organizations that need me and would APPRECIATE my work, and not treat me like a PAWN.

The waiters (1 female, 1 male )must pick a theme for their table of 8 guests (ours is military theme), dressing with the theme, having some form of small scale entertainment for their guests, decorating table with centerpiece, also possibly small prizes for the 8 guests, all with a military theme (possibly only army...) AND incorporate ways in above to raise $ (our "tips") for the local nonprofit hosting this event . ANY & ALL IDEAS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!
*The good news is there will be open bar! ;)

Okay, we're raising money for a charitable foundation, and we need good ideas. We already have done (and can't do again) or are thinking of:

A raffle
Bake sales
Dress down day (where we can wear whatever we want if we pay like 3 dollars, instead of wearing a uniform)
A talent contest same idea.
Some kind of quiz or word puzzle. Get one off the internet or make your own, then people pay to enter and have some kind of chocolates for a prize.
Sponsoring form a local company, the kids parents might be interested of they have their own business maybe?
Teachers vs students (or parents) sports event
Sponored silence
Sponsored spelling event
Have an all ages crafts/cooking event, then sell the spoils.
A movie night in the auditorium
An after school story time for little kids

Yeah. So anything other than those things, please list 'em! I'll give best answer to the person that gives the most ideas that I actually decide to use, so list as many as you can think, even if you think they're dumb.
