The waiters (1 female, 1 male )must pick a theme for their table of 8 guests (ours is military theme), dressing with the theme, having some form of small scale entertainment for their guests, decorating table with centerpiece, also possibly small prizes for the 8 guests, all with a military theme (possibly only army...) AND incorporate ways in above to raise $ (our "tips") for the local nonprofit hosting this event . ANY & ALL IDEAS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!
*The good news is there will be open bar! ;)

Little toy soldiers could be favors on the table as well as using them to decorate the table. I'm sure you could find a camo or flag table cloth to use as well.

At our celebrity lunch events we make our tables "tip" for really simple things like forks, salt, etc. You could pretend to be a drill seargant. "Drop down and give me 20.....dollars"

You could give them "medals of honor" for their generosity.

Good luck!

Well, it would be a Navy theme but you can do clay pot sailors. See a pic of the ones we did for centerpieces here: http://new.photos.yahoo.com/sub_kiske

We used 4 in clay pots, 2 violet pots for the body and 1 regular pot for the head and 1 clay base for the shoes to make each sailor. But you could do them with smaller craft pots and give them away as prizes for the guests, too. I suppose with a different paint theme you could make them for any service.

Let me know if you want better directions.

a ww2 USO theme perhaps

Appearance: Have the male waiter dressed in a dress uniform and the female as a WAC. You can find reasonable costumes at local costume shops, they may even be willing to donate them for the night since it is charity.

Entertainment: if one of your waiters can sing (Preferably the female) have them sing "We'll meet again" originally sung by Vera Lynn.

as for small prizes: you can pick up small lapel pins and patches for various army units, even small ww2 vehicles.

Well just a though.

Best of luck.

Get a stash of MRE's from an army/navy surplus store (if you can get them there).
