i.e. Tennis = ace means donation, Cricket = hitting a six = donation. I can't see why the sponsors can't just donate what they budgeted for without people having to "earn" it. It makes me sick. What next? Donations for every touchdown, home run, shorthanded goal, or 3 pointer?

Looking at putting the "Fun" back into "Fund-raising" ... as I am doing this on a regional, national and International basis and running out of ideas!! Can you help me with some, that maybe I have not thought about yet?? Remember.. it has to be "Fun".. so that people of all ages can help to "Serve Others" in need for worthy causes. Thank you for your time and have a great day.....

other than the question above:

What are some good, solid, backed-up reasons to support and participate in national services (PeaceCorps, AmeriCorps, SeniorCorps)?

on the other side of the argument...
Why should someone NOT participate?
it has to be backed up, not something like "you can be doing better things, etc."

we have to be prepared for both sides because we wont know if were pro or con until the day of the debate

I'm getting confirmed in April and we have to do community service. I was thinking it would be fun to make blankets and bring them to some sort of shelter or something. How do you find that type of place? I live kinda in the Minniapolis area.

I'm launching a nonprofit within the year. I have 10 members/workers. We are looking for a large scale fundraiser that will bring in over $10,000 for charity. What kind of events would you suggest (things like carnivals and 5ks)?

I just watched an episode of Oprah that was about children working on fishing boats in Ghana and how an organization called IOM is a place where you can help. Well, the website isn't working but has anyone had an experiences with IOM? I always want to help and give to charities but i don't know which ones are actually worth donating too, meaning i don't know what is a good percentage for them to actually use of the money you give. I heard that even 5% is a lot for them to take out but I'm really not sure. Are there any more organizations like IOM that are reputable? Thanks

How come when filling out financial aid papers, scholarship papers, or honor society papers we are told that church work doesn't count as community service, when in essence the same work is being done. Instead, we are expected to list specific organizations we have worked with. Well, that's kind of bragging, isn't it? And besides, if someone is filling out this information for scholarships or aid, then don't you think that these people might not have the money or means of transportation to get to these places to put these services on their forms?

assalam o alikum,

what kind of tasks can be assigned to the students (school/ college) who r working as voluntary in a charity hospital. which generate interest in them and it should be meaningful as well.

currently we ask students to fill the "patient data form" and "patient facilitation" but their behaviour shows that they dont find it interesting (not all, some students)

i m planning to ask them but if u have any ideas......
jazakallah (thank you)
