by the way, a lot of these kids are disabled from before they were born, from the depleted uranium -or something like that- that the U.S coated the bombs with. Thanks, and pls no rude comments.

You should contact your nearest Armed Forces Public Affairs Office or visit a Recruiting Station. They can give you plenty of ideas about what would be the best donations your school can send to those children. They may also help you conducting a donations drive (event).

Frist, I like the idea that you want to help these kids. When I am sick, I enjoy cards, a good joke, may be a poem, a phone call. If these kids do not speak English at all, they may love to hear you try to speak a few words in their language. Remember the song,"It's A Small World"? We all share very simular feelings about things, even though we are different. Take care, and good luck.

Oh man...I'm glad you asked this. I used to work in a hospital emergency room where we saw our portion of kids. The volunteers of the hospital got a pattern of a small teddy bear, and just sewed them together out of whatever donated scrap fabric they could get. They colored in eyes and noses or sewed spare buttons on some of them. (babies obviously can't have buttons), Then on some they tied thin gift ribbon around the necks.
They're cheap to make and you can make tons of them with donated fabric. The kids loved them and were comforted that they had something to hold onto.
