Depends on what you mean by volunteer. Unlike real life where you can volunteer to do 'the dirty work', volunteering online means you usually need some experience.
Most sites that need volunteers are after people who know how to program, are good at graphics, or know how to look after and moderate forums.
If you get or have some experience in one of these areas, almost any site will appreciate your help.

Uh... you can volunteer to give money on a lot of sites... but if you want to actively volunteer, why don't you do it in real life?
