I want to sponser a child in africa .. does anyone know a legit website where my money actually goes to the children and I can write back and forth? there are so many out there I want to make sure my money is going to africa and not some joke website

Good idea. Find a registered charity with the Government. Thoroughly research the Charity. I think it would be best if people gave money directly to the poor instead of charities. Find out who needs the money in Africa if possible. Transfer money directly into the poor families account if possible.

There are 80,000 registered charities in Canada who report $11 billion in donations annually. There are numerous unethical charities.

Yes - World Vision and designate that you would like to sponsor a child from Africa. We have been sponsoring children thru WV for more than 20 years now.

It is legit. And when your child's needs are met, they let you know so you can choose another.

When you sponsor a child all you have to do is show up at Church and answer "I do" to a question or two and sign that Christening Certificate and you are then the babies Godfather. But spiritually you have to help raise that child to believe in God and have a good spiritual backround. It is a great honor to sponsor a child.

Why do you need to sponsor an african child ... do they have a lot of alcoholic kids in africa - no wonder they're so poor.
