I was memeber of a gym in Grand Bend, ON. Canada. I didn't bring an additional pair of shoes to workout the last time I went there . I was kicked out in a very gross maner because just of that. I made sure I did bring clean and dry running shoes on, but I arrived there half hour before 9 pm the time they were suppose to close. (they probable hated to stay open just because of me and closed that night as soon as I had to run away. Their floor was messy and nobody was there, so they took advantage and yelled at me plus they said they are cancelling my membership. they know I am inmigrant I was a paying member .

So I'm really interested in getting involved in the HIV/AIDS or Darfur situations in Africa, but I don't know where to start. I'm an American Canadian, and I'd sort of prefer an NGO. I'm not happy just writing a check, I want to go somewhere and help. Any good starting points? Also, I'm in grade 11 right now, so it'll be a bit. Would it be better to go fresh out of high school and return for college later, or is a university degree essential for this kind of work? Thanks!

What is a good place to donate old items that may not be good enough for resale but are certainly good enough for people who are in need?
For instance, I have a pair of black sneakers that my cat put teeth marks into, which I don't think anyone would pay for. But I see homeless people who wear newspaper on their feet, and cover up in cardboard boxes. A sweater with a bleach stain isn't pretty, but it's warmer than cardboard, and you wouldn't wear my cat-teeth marked shoes to work, but they've got to be better than newspaper.
So how can I get my old clothes to people who would get use out of them? I've been told that clothes that aren't good enough for resale get thrown away if you give them to Goodwill, Savers, etc.
Is there anybody anywhere that wants this kind of stuff, or should I really just throw it away?

Sorry to be so long-winded. Just looking for advice.

Thanks,

Martine

Here's my sister and brother-in-law's theory and I'm inclined to think they're right what do you think?
They took a class at the local university not to long ago, and I had forgotten this, however they said that in times of war the residing president CAN elect to remain in office. They feel that is the reason Bush has done everything he can to extend the war.
What are your thoughts?
