Try VSO - Volunteers in Service Overseas. It is a charity, not a government program, but it has a lot of people from the UK as volunteers.

Hello John. I believe the UK Government does have a program similar to the US Peace Corps. I can't remember how is it called, but I met some UK volunteers in South Africa and here in the Caribbean serving as volunteers.

Ask in your nearest Social Service office about it, they should know. If you still can't find one of such programs, let me know via e-mail at: dgon1329@yahoo.com or iex@ifasc.org. I will help you find a program that you can join.
