I found that poverty in rural areas is becoz of the following factors.
1. Unawareness of Govt's poverty alleviation programmes such as SGSRY, SCP,SHGs etc. Govt. has opened many avenues for the people below poverty line [BPL].
The subsidy based programmes have been of little help, instead they caused more harm, becoz these programmes can provide money to the poor people but there is no system to educate them to utilise the money.
Often this money is misutilised. Mainly such money is used to clear the earlier borrowings from a 'Mahajan' or money lenders who lend money to the poors on a very higher rate of interest which, most of the time, a poor man is unable to repay. This is the story of every poor in rural India.
This problem can be solved by forming Self Help Groups [SHGs] which are very successful in most of the places, especially formed by women. I think the Govt. and NGOs and volunteers should give more emphasis on such things.
2.Most of the poors are land less labourers and they have to go to the nearby city to earn their bread & butter. The Govt. can extend building up of infrastructure in rural places, if India is to prospare.
Thus migration to cities will stop by making available work at their living places.
3.The SSIs should be promoted to counter unemployement in rural India.
4.The socio-economic condition at some places is worst. The caste system in rural India is very much prevailing and quite visible. One can go there and notice it.
People are required to be educated.
5.Customs often make poors to borrow money from the money lender.Awareness is needed.
6.Rivalry and groupism, now a days often leads to clashes and one group who is powerfull, stops the progress of the rival group, altogather.
7.The 'Pradhans' [village heads] need to be trained and educated. The women 'Pradhans' as is customary in rural India, remain under VEIL and are not allowed by their husbands to partcipate in the process.
8.Though the Govt. posts its officers and employees in rural areas but they do not take part whole heartedly. One of the reasons is that the salary get cut in the form of HRA.
I think the Govt should appreciate the persons working in rural areas and give some benifits in their salary so that other people are also motivated to work in the rural areas.

India is not poor let that point be clear to all.If poverty is to be removed the basic thing to be done is to spread literacy. Literate India can make proper use of all the resources. The poor people don't have a knowledge of the development in urban area. Now all age people can study because of IGNOU...why not implement compulsory basic education. then one can never say RURAL INDIA is PORTY STRUCK....USA is no rich it is only that they make maximum use of the resources and makes it a point to spread literacy. That is where is India lacking...INDIA is THE RICHEST COUNTRY. Indian Politics will never let RURAL INDIA to prosper coz of their own ulterior motive...example Tata steel is setting up a car factor in WEST BENGAL...the land acquired by them is dry and cannot be cultivated...still MAMTA BANERJEE is putting up a show as if a useful land has been taken....by setting up this industry many people will get employment and their standard of living will be higher but POLITICIAN wont let that happen. So how can anyone remove poverty from RURAL INDIA

I think Literacy is the only solution which can remove poverty. Educating people cannot only solve poverty but also unemployment, sanitation etc.. People needs to be educated and skilled. Government should provide resources for the rural youth to get educated and get skilled.
There is no one to blame for the situtation right now in India as every party, academy, governemnt is trying to solve the problem. There are some academies which provide skill training to the rural youth.
One of them is Sardar Kulwant Singh Chadha Skills Academy which renders training to the rural youth and even helps them get placements. They train them as unarmed security guards and place them in related jobs Delhi NCR areas. I think there should be more academies like this who are helping for the rural section of the India, this can bring a big change in our country.

Poverty is found to be multi-dimensional and does not have a single facet. This means that poverty has to be viewed from the angle of a country’s structural, social development, education and the availability of various basic amenities, and even the characteristics of the inhabitants themselves.
The issue lies in the production and benefits derived from the natural resources which are not well distributed, in the pursuit of development of educational and knowledge facilities as a source for long-term economic growth.
So who is to be blamed? Politics? Government? Culture?
If we have truly internalised the essence in each and everyone responsibility, surely the poverty of life and spirit do not become as ambiguous issue as it is amongst the rural Indian communities.

Yes Poverty can be removed from Rural India.
First you must know that the word is not "lake" but "lack"
According to me, Give micro-credit to women self help groups to start micro-enterprises. Women will work day and night and at odd hours to make their business successful. This gives them income and adds to Income Growth of the Nation.
It gives them additional purchasing power to buy and feed and educate their children.
It gives them awareness in health and hygiene and awareness in their legal rights also.
It reduces the burden on the Government.
It gives them dignity in life.
Economic Empowerment of Women will lead to better Community Development and a better environment for children to grow up and a good democratic system as economic empowerment leads to Political empowerment.
This has been proven in Tamilnadu where there are more than 30 lakh women in self help groups who have started micro-enterprises and are politically empowered by forming Panchayat level federations.
Poverty will automatically reduce.

hay purushoth !!!!!!!!
it is the only question keep on revolving in each youth's mind ....
and i think we can remove poverty just by making them litterate .
because no one can be a rich or of middle class unless and until they don't know the correct way of earning and this can come by litteracy only and only .
no technology or nuke can help them .............
and to which extent they will help them . OK ! once , second time but till when......

Restore their heritage and the rights to live as they wish.
indigenous peoples everywhere are being pushed from their lands by greed.
These people's need to be left to their lands and be encouraged by us to continue. We have a lot to learn from their simple lives.

Uniform distribution of money. Treat them as share holder in every activity where they participate.
Businessmen earn money due to them and they remain poor.
