Organising a community function?

Hello friends, can anybody suggest me where can I get details & tips for organising an entertaining community function?

Well mainly we are required to organise a sports festival, & we are in need of some innovative ideas which can make this festival attractive & entertaining, & generate some income for charity.

Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I recently worked on several charity functions, and since you are doing a sports festival, you could check with your local sports teams for some donations. I've found that the baseball and football teams in my area were more than willing to donate signed memorabilia and other cool stuff.

Maybe you could work with a local sports bars or themed-restaurants to do a block party and have some silent auction items from your local sports teams. In addition, you could have some sports trivia games, contests, and other door prizes.

If you work with some of your sports teams, community centers and volunteer organizations, you will be able to get the word out more effectively.

Try the rooster poop. That's a game that uses a 48" x 48" square board. Segmented into 2 inch squares. You sell off chances to each square. Here in the USA. we get $1 a square. After all squares are sold put a 48 inch square cage over the board. Then put a rooster inside of it. Whose ever square gets pooped in first wins half the money taken in.
