You mean to say
"Why are grocery stores and malls closed on sundays"
I feel they should be open till 5 pm at least. Many working people get time only on a sunday to buy their groceries.
In Chennai, the grocery shops and the malls are open on a sunday.

Because Sunday is a holiday for all.
Laziness
They maybe watching some programs in television.
Sunday is for chatting with the family members
The stores and mall people also human being only and they also have a life to be free from business atleast on Sunday so that they can relax.

Are open grocery store and mall on sunday because many people no have time to shop during work week Monday through Friday. Also company pay on Friday and no bank open until Saturday morning so get money and buy groceries or things you need while still have money to spend :)

Govt. of Delhi has allowed business on all days. It is time of ATM. Govt. should not restrict. Businessmen should be allowed to open - close as per own choice. Rail Mail Jail also open on sundays. Staff can ask for weeking holiday or leave on Sunday. Sunday is NOT a bad day. Sunday mean more business.

did ur q' mean that y aren't they open on sunday. if yes would ur parents or u like to work on sundays. sunday is like a resting day and also when the christians go to the church. that's y
