How many percent of your income is spent to help poor people ?
Don't you feel responsible about that ?
Is it only the governments who shall worry about them?

I guess I am a bad person. I once worked as a security guard and would see homeless people all the time and most were able (of mind and body) to work. So why would I give money to someone when I put in my hours to earn them. Plus I don't drink soda but I do drink tea. I worry more about the elimination of the middle class.

I am a nice person,or at least i thought i was until now.Ido help,I sponsor a child, give blood,I'm even an organ donor,I buy meals for the homeless every once in a while.Even the best of people have to limit this charity thing because it's like they say "charity starts at home"It's good to give but if you need help...you're out of luck.I have to agree with the reaper on this one.

well let's see, i pay child support on 4 children , after everything is taken out and after my employer keeps playing with my hours , i am lucky to see 90 dollars a week to live on , i am homeless and use the library computers to research and learn in an effort to better myself. ok , and help poor people, help the homeless what a crock..i've been to every agency there is and the answer is always the same we just collect the money we don't disburse it, and besides you are a single white male , you don't do drug's and your not an alcoholic, so sorry go freeze, go starve, go away !,......so know what you are talking about before you open your mouth and try to insert everybody elses foot in your mouth...those so called charities just make those who operate them rich...they do not actually help the poor or indegent !

Yes, I am a nice person. I do not have to spend a percentage of my income to be a nice person either. I donate, help out, give, educate, give encouraging thoughts, keep people in my prayers, along with many other intangible thngs. i do not keep track of what percentage goes to charity b/c I do what Iso from the heart. It is not only the governmentsjob, it starts with the individaul wanting something better and it is everyones job to pitch in .

I am a very nice person, but i do not take any responsibility to spend my hard earned money on poor people. I donate to community shelters, food banks, etc. but it is not my problem to help pay other people's rent, bills, etc. If they are too lazy to find a better paying job and be more financially responsible, why should I work harder for them? I consider myself nice to go out of my way and help provide necessities like food, clothes when I can, but i will not spend money on them. Does that make me mean?

I always try to help people that are poor. because I'm not rich, we have to save our money for the things we want. I have a 1 year old son and we always get what he needs before us. more people should help poor people a lot , because they need help to get back on there feet.

I have often taken a homeless person who said that they were hungry, into a deli, and bought them a sandwich, and something to drink, yes even cookies for dessert.
