Please follow this link and read about this little boy whose only wish is to receive 350 million birthday cards so he can get into the Guiness Book of World Records. Someone here on YahooAnswers made me aware of it. This has touched my heart and I want to help make his wish come true.

orphanage in countries around the world?
What positive or caring or loving phrase or thing would you give if you could(it can be from your mouth to their ears, or a gift to bring to them or whatever you wish to bring or give to them)
And why?

For me, I would personally love to stay and be with them, and to hold them and sing to them..and play games and teach them things...and perhaps adopt as many as I could! LOL!That would be "my heaven'! *grins*!

I live in the United Kingdom. I have a 4 month old baby and lots of surplus things like breast pads, clothes, unopened nipple sheilds, books, nappies. I want them to go where they are really needed but can't find a charity that accepts anything but money! I'd rather they went straight to where they are needed rather than to a shop.

What should the first steps be? I always hear about groups or foundations being started but I don't know how to go about getting one off the ground.

I want to do volunteer work over the summer when I'm home from college and won't have a job. I looked into 2 local hospitals- 1 only offered clerical duties for volunteers (I'd like to work with people), and the other had a 3-4 months wait for volunteering! Also looked into the humane society, but you must go to orientation before even applying and the next one isn't until the end of June. I'd like to work at a hospital, or with animals, or for a hotline, or some type of social services center(rape, domestic violence, HIV/AIDs, mental illness, homeless, etc.). ANYTHING where I'm helping people or animals! I'm having such a hard time finding anything on the net or thinking of other places to call I haven't already checked out. I'm looking for something in Orange County, CA. I live in Placentia which is very close to Anaheim. (Disneyland)

My particular interests are with the environment. I was looking at a forestry program with the Peace Corps, but I can't do the volunteer thing with my baby. What else is out there along those lines, and what kind of major should I go after? Currently pursuing environmental science, but thinking of switching to botany.

Please help me?
I volunteer at a nursing home for the elderly, I hold the bingos every other monday. I am concerned that there is a lack of involvment in this activity, only 9 people attend this game. I would like to draw more people together as this is a good way for them to interact. I believe it has to do with the prizes we give which are only dimes as their winnings. I would like to make it a special event for them 1 time a month. I want to be able to give them better prizes which I think is the key to getting them more involved. What I need is some good ideas of what would be a good gift to give them to make this a blast. I do not know much about what elderly people need or want. But i know that i can rely on all your ideas to help me. think of your family and friends and please tell me how whatI can do for both the men and women gifts to draw their attention to become more involved with there interaction

ok ok i know the basic fundraising ideas like selling chocolates and crap but yeah we are trying to raise money for the american cancer society. Asking people to donate has already been done and so has putting cans around and stuff. are there any other good ideas to raise money?
also we are having a little stand thing at the relay for life and you are allowed to raise money there too....so stuff like face painting and selling food will be done.. anything else ?

I've always wanted to do charity work. I want to feed people. I want to mentor kids. I just want to help. But I've never done these things before. Everytime I walk by a homeless person I would get the urge to give him/her a sandwich or something. I dont because I'm scared? shy? because ive never seen anybody did this b4?

I always had a big heart but Ive been hurt time and time again from family to friends to girlfriends. Maybe thats where my fear stems from...I always ended up being hurt...so now Im really defensive. I want a place that I could give my love out to without getting hurt in return. Could community service be the answer? How do I start? How do I overcome the fear?

I found a great beauty tip site where you also have the opportunity to donate all those unwanted new and unopened cosmetics and beauty items you no longer want and would donate to those less fortunate. I have investigated this site and it is truly only goodness (hard to find these days) I know and believe what goes around in the vain of love, charity and goodness comes back to you twofold!....if this hit's your heart check out .Can't we all give a little to help less than we have? USA Charities (non-profit, 501(c)(3) Registered Organization) donates to battered and abused woman/childrens shelters and sends you a frame worthy letter! Also a receipt to deduct your donation! Pay It Forward! The web address is: makeupalley.com

We have 7 or more members for UNITED WE STAND in support of the troops, and desperately need non profit status. We would dare to dream of it before the fourth of July, but understand it takes 6 months. Or group is four years old.

- Volunteer in orphanage

Which activity would be best for medical school? Do you that med school would like the fact that I went aboard to Argentina or not really since I did it during senior year at high school?

I have gone to my local communhity center, local libraries, local schools, and even far away cemetaries, but none of them have anything I can do, or their ideas have been turned down by the Eagle Board. I have even gone to the COunty of Sacramento, and found what I though was a good project stenciling storm drains, but the project was turned down by the Eagle Board because "it was too easy." I need some ideas for an Eagle project, and soon because my parents are getting on my case about getting the project done.
