orphanage in countries around the world?
What positive or caring or loving phrase or thing would you give if you could(it can be from your mouth to their ears, or a gift to bring to them or whatever you wish to bring or give to them)
And why?

For me, I would personally love to stay and be with them, and to hold them and sing to them..and play games and teach them things...and perhaps adopt as many as I could! LOL!That would be "my heaven'! *grins*!

I have an adopted 9-yr old son from Uganda, through the World Help program. He lives in Gulu, which is in the midst of a civil war in northern Uganda. (All of Uganda has been surrounded by violence for the last 35 years--north and south, and Rwanda borders on the west.) His name is Caesar. He lives in a refugee center, with his parents, who have AIDS and who are unlikely to live beyond their 30's. I have heard that a total of 25,000 ORPHANED CHILDREN drift in to Gulu every night to escape the Lord's Resistance Army, who have made it a habit of kidnapping children as young as 5, and who enslaves them for sex trades, and to put them to use as young "killers". They force young children to kill their parents or siblings as a show of courage and allegiance. These children hide in the alleys and in the shadows every night, hungry, dirty, tired, and crying. I sent my "son" a Christmas package through World Help because we aren't allowed to send money or any material objects that could cause him to be robbed or killed in rages of jealousy or greed. He sent me a picture he had drawn of Jesus, Joseph and Mary at Christmas. It hangs on my living room wall with other photos of my family, friends, my beloved basset, and with his picture, as well. I get progress reports on his grades, his activities in school, of his education progress, and that he attends church on Sundays. He has written me back as my "loving son". He gives to me more than I give him. In my small way, he makes me more humble, more than he will ever realize. I hope he will survive each day to enjoy his childhood, that his country will survive to give him opportunities, so he can become a man.

I don't talk the walk, I do the walk.

I am a volunteer at Give Kids the World.

As a greeter at the airport, I welcome the guests, help them to their luggage, then to their rented car, and then send them off to the GKTW village.

Each greet takes about four hours and it is the best four hours of my day. No tipping allowed so I can give as many smiles as I wish and the guests know that I am sincere. The love these kids return can't be measured in money. Their smiles satiate my senses.

In this world we need more pitching and less bitching. Be a volunteer and start right now.

5. Be a role model for them

6. Tell them motivational stories

7. Direct them to the right future

All the things above are just about one thing: TO GIVE LOVE

Gosh--if you REALLY do--you could ask your local church--or health department-who needs 'special' care from someone like you?

I don't know where you live, but here --there are people that go on 'miision trips' to lots of places.
Ordinary people, like yourself.
ASK around.
