I want to join Peace Corps, but don't know what region I would get the most out of (and I'm aware you don't always get the region requested).

I feel like Africa would give me the most amazing experience, but I'm not sure I could stand the intense extremes in temperature, and the living conditions. I definitely couldn't live in a mud hut- sometimes even in my own bed on our second story I get freaked out that someone is going to come in my window and attack me, I can't imagine living in a place without windows!

I'm also picky about food, but love to cook. I would need to be in a place with lots of fresh foods available. The more tropical locations appeal to me for this reason.

The European countries like Ukraine and Macedonia also appeal to me because they are more urban and the living conditions are better. But I sort of feel like I won't get the whole Peace Corps experience in a place like that.

My main concern is safety. Which regions have the most welcoming people?

They get us up EARLY in the morning @ like 7 or 8, & then we can't be on or near the premises until 5 PM, & then we MUST be there by that time or else we'll lose our beds. Very confusing.

Ok well like lots of kids in the summer, I want to make some money. But I am not old enough to get a part job somewhere. My Catholic School does a Summer Tutoring Program. It is available to any boys and girls of any school (1st to 8th grade) and goes every Monday to Friday for about 8 hours a day from June 25 to August 3 (our summer vacation is from June 24 to August 6). That means I will be at school tutoring 27 of my 42 days of summer break (we get July 3-5 off). That's about 216 hours of my summer. I get paid $6 an hour (I know it's below minimum). After doing the math, I can make $1,296 in this short summer. Since you have to meet certain criteria to be eligible to tutor, all my closest friends will not be doing this. Not a lot of people I know or hang out with will be doing this. But another major downside to this is we will have to wear our school uniforms to the tutoring sessions. So that means over half the summer, I will have to wear my school uniform. The

If you have a home garden, and you grow more than what you can use, what do you do with the extra? Do you give it to friends and family or do you give it to those in need by way of food pantries at churches or a food bank? Do you give it to homeless shelters? Or do you just let it rot and throw it away?

I really want to do something worth doing in summer 2008, u know , like helping out orphans in africa or being a leader at Camp America...any thing like that. something that doesn't cost me to do althoough i dont mind payin for my own flight (obviously).

I want an experience that i will always remember, and at the same time makingothers smile but other than the two I just mentioned, I'm not aware of any or where to look. I've searched the net but I'm still stuck.....any ideas any one?

Thanks :) x

Here are the rules : I am going to give the "Best Answer" points to the first person under the age of 17 who ties or beats me in the amount of charities they are a part of. Also don't forget to tell me why.

We are situated at the foot of Orucho Hills right inside the rural village of Kenya, East Africa. We need a devoted lady or man to help us start this. Land is already provided by the community. We only lack funds to start it. We are a faith based Organization serving the rural folks.

I'm currently working on a project in college that requires me to step out of my comfort zone and talk to complete strangers. I can speak all day in front of groups no problem. If I have to speak to a stranger one on one I draw a blank. Any help on conversation starters would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
