I teach for a preschool that is in a Methodist Church. Our curriculum provides light bible teachings... very generalized bible stories. Recently, a parent of a child attending told us that her child was not permitted to join in on Halloween and now Christmas activities and they would not be attending our parties. We assume the family is a JW (mother has not provided any information on this and we don't wish to pry), but were confused on why a JW would send their child to a Methodist based preschool when nondenominational preschools are also available in our area? I know very little on the JW religion and do not want to offend the family and want to make sure we don't offend them. We were also concerned since we do teach them the Pledge and the little I do know tells me the child should not be participating in this. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

I heard the movie came from a book. Doesn't it seem like the "Leader" of the zombies had a special had for Neville? I mean, do you think he could have been someone that he knew? maybe an old enemy or a close friend that was angry with him for not finding a cure and being immune

I just stumbled across a website making this allegation. Apparently the Mormon bible says that God's curse on Cain was dark skin, and to father an inferior race?? The dark skin thing hasn't appeared in any bible I've ever read. I realize Mormons use a different version. But is this still the belief? Are there any Mormons out there that can give us some insight?

Apparantly, he made Adam KNOWING Adam would make the wrong choice and fall to sin.

Are you telling me that he couldn't have created a different guy, lets say Bob, KNOWING Bob would resist the devil??

It was Adam's choice, yes, but God knew about it when God created Adam.

If instead, he had created a guy named Bob, knowing Bob would make the right choice, wouldn't this make more sense??

Surely, there must be some human that would resist such an offer. Why wouldn't God create this human, instead of Adam?? Both would have free will...but God would know this "other" man is gonna make the right choice, just as He knew Adam would make the wrong one.

If such a human does not exist...then it is not fair to punish Adam [if no other man can resist either].

If it is possible for a man, let's call him Bob, to resist the serpent....why didn't God create this man instead? Unless God is just a fool?

Ok, it says "Thou thalt not suffer a witch to die." But the "Witch" part was really supposed to be translated to "prisoner". Either way you translate it, does this make it moral to kill either of them? A prisoner is anyone who is detained for any crime.

I've noticed that in multiple countries on our planet, there are some who feel that the darker the person the more there is something wrong with the person. I have my own "beliefs" about the origins of racism (etc. that I asked) but I wanted to know how others would answer these scientific questions. How did "the more light, the more right" originate? Can this view be romoved from the human family? If so, how in your opinion?
