I was covering my eyes a lot because i was sooooooo scared but I swear at one point I thought that the lead scary dude's shredded clothing remains that he was wearing looked like they had a camo print to them, so maybe it was some military guy who caught the bug and was bent at Neville like you said. My hub says I'm crazy and what do i know b'c i was covering my eyes the whole time. I'd have to see it again to check but no thanks!

In the book the leader of the infected (More like vampires in the book) was indeed someone who knew Neville. I can't recall if he was just a neighbor or a friend and co-worker. They retained some of their intelligence. Every night while laying siege to Neville's home he'd be calling out his name, telling him to come outside.

In the original book, I Am Legend (1954, Richard Matheson), there was a vampire that came every night and called out to him. It was a former neighbor and friend named Ben Cortman. A particularly moving passage in the book has Neville watching Cortman being destroyed and his sorrow at seeing someone familiar passing out of his life, irregardless of the threat to him that Cortman posed.

It is a remake from a book, and I think the head zombie thing was mad that he took his female and thats why he set a trap for him to leave his dog vulnerable to attack by his dogs. kinda like Neville took what he loved so he took what Neville loved. Was i the only one who didnt see any other female zombies besides the one he caught?

i think that the one infected woman that neville took in the movie was close to the leader. he kind of had a little spaz moment in that part of the movie when he saw she had been taken and every time he appeared he was really in it for neville

I am Legend is a remake of an old movie called The Omega Man. The original movie starred Charlton Heston, and in my opinion, was much better than this recent release.
