some parents want the kids to learn a lesson, so they let them do it.. until they fall back and hit their heads.. and most kids do it when their parents arent looking. some parents really are just rude and dont care bc they believe their children can do anything.. heely's suck.. my sis wears them all the time ... hate em.

I think the Heely's are fine IF the kid is using them on the playground or at home. Stores, malls, restaurants, basically anywhere in public are not the place to be using them. Parents need to be responsible and teach their kids manners.
I have been nearly knocked over several times turning corners that kids are speeding around with no regard for anyone or thing. Most of the time there are no parents in sight. The worst place I have seen heely's was at a restaurant. I felt so bad for the servers trying to maneuver hot dishes around these kids. I noticed this as I was leaving. Had I entered I would have spoken to management if nothing was done right away.
There are many places that are banning heely's the biggest being Disney parks.
Doctors are noticing the health effects from heelys. Kids are causing damage to their leg muscles since they just need to roll around and not use much effort to walk. Doctors are also seeing many sprained and broken wrists.

I avoid malls like the plague. So i haven't been bumped into like you have. I would truly be annoyed,
Before I read the rest of your question i was going to say:
Because they aren't worried about their child bumping into frail old people or small children.
Now, I would say they have no manners and probably talk loudly on their cell phones when shopping or waiting in a cashier line. They're not teaching their children how to live in the world with others, because they're only thinking of themselves. They don't understand boundaries and are "rude, crude and socially unacceptable."

To Philip W- what? If parents let the kid do something wrong, how do we not blame the parent?
Kids don't know any better. They are given something that is essentially a toy and told to use it in inappropriate areas. Yes- parent's fault! They should have different shoes to wear in places where healey's would be inappropriate for use. If they don't and they fall or injure someone, the parents should be held responsible.

I took on a seasonal job at the mall for some extra money and I notice at lease a dozen kids a day with these on, and this is what I've noticed. Most of the kid with wheelies have no regards for other people- the roll in front of elderly people and almost trip them and they do NOT get out of the way of people carrying lots of bags/boxes, because they might have to actually WALK around them, making these poor people maneuver around the kids. I see this every weekend!
This is poor parenting, not me afraid of change, like others suggested. I have seen a few kids with wheelies that do mind their manners and just kind of roll behind their parents or whomever they're with.

Dont go to the mall. Too expensive. But if a kid ran into me, yeah I'd be annoyed too.

Because they think the shoes will keep them entertained and shut them up for a while. Sad.
