I'm not saying that most Christians are evil or anything but why does it seem like most people claim to be religious but never actually follow the teachings of their supposed religion? I think you see this best in politics, such as people who always talk about Jesus but then support war or torture or not helping the poor? Surely people who truly follow the teachings of Christ having to be wondering what so many Christians are talking about.

I was asleep quite soundly, but twice while i was asleep, i awoke with a start to a "cold breeze" sensation all over my body. It felt as if a door had opened an a huge draft blew over me. Problem is, i was covered by a blanket.

Both times, i was extremely startled when i woke up. It wasn't uncomfortable as it was much more startling.

What does this mean? Are there any spiritual implications?

...as far as any observable evidence in the "real world" (i.e. the world OUTSIDE of their illusory concatenations) is concerned, they're wrong? This doesn't necessarily invalidate their beliefs (the contradictions in their scripture does a good enough job without any help), but don't any of them accept the fact that there's nothing objective to substantiate their claim even a tiny bit?

Is this so hard to swallow?

The Earth was water baptized (Noah's time)
Christians are water baptized
The Earth is purged with fire (in the end)
Christians are baptized with the Holy Spirit and FIRE.
God creates a new Earth
For Christians the old man passed away, they are a new creation.

The same water that flooded and cleansed the Earth brought new life to Noah and his family.
The same fire that purges and cleanses the Earth in the end is the same fire that purifies the Church for the return of Jesus.

Tell me what you think and thanks for your time.

Angels can come in many different forms. I sometimes think people who're there to help me through different parts of my life are angels sent down to me. Whenever either a loved one or myself has narrowly escaped death or great harm, I think of it as our guardian angel working overtime to protect us.

Do you believe in angels? How have angels existed in YOUR life?

I feel like that excercise guru who would scream out "Stop the insanity!"

It is EVERYWHERE you go - your mailbox full of items you should buy (cars, clothes, etc) and then your email box is also full of offers for gifts. If you go to any store, more stuff being markteted to us. It's even on TV, radio, etc.

Isn't it something that so few step back and see how bad this is for us, especially when the economy is weak and families are struggling?

Yes, gifts are nice - to give and receive - however, consumers need to learn to draw the line and step back a little this time of year. It's not just "things" that make us happy, and somehow our culture tries to make it that way to profit business.

Is there a verse in the bible that says you DO NOT have to be baptized to go to heaven, or is there a verse that says YOU HAVE to be baptized to go to heaven. My dad is baptist and says you go to hell if you havent been baptized. I've been saved but not baptized, i feel it is right to be baptized, but the bible says it is by grace alone you are saved, wouldnt you call baptism kind of a work? does anyone else feel the way i feel? and about the verses..if you could help me out on that as well.

This weekend he said that we're all becoming too consumerish and that by showering our kids with gifts at Christmas to make them happy that we're really giving them a false sense of happiness. Anyone agree?

i've heard the explanation that the reason people don't live to be 1000 years old like people in the old testament did is because sin entered the world and infected mankind. first of all, this wouldn't explain why people continued to have lifespans of nearly 1000 years after adam and eve. secondly, i can't really find any specific verse which says that is the reason at all. didn't god explain exactly what his punishment to adam and eve would be? no where in this punishment did he ever say anything about shortening the lifespan of man to less than 100 years. it's one thing to take a verse out of context. it's an entirely different thing to just make stuff up.
