However literal the scriptures may be their capacity to teach us through allegory is inexhaustible.

God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. All throughout the O.T. you can see shadowed similarities in the works of Gods hands. In His Creation and in His Covenants.
For example: The blood on the doorposts in the time of Moses in Egypt..and the blood of the cross.
Abraham being tested to offer up his son, Isaac and then what God done with Jesus on Calvary.
There are so many...God works in cycles. Just look at His creation and how the earth replentishes itself in cycles. The universe moves in cycles. Ect.

Its very interesting. I don't believe that its "the same fire" as you say, I believe the fire in our hearts of the Holy Spirit is part of it, and the fire of trials we through on earth is part of it. Not that trials save us of course, but they do help to refine us.

Good insight...as Malachi wrote, "“But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the Lord, as in days gone by, as in former years. ‘So I will come near to you for judgment. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive aliens of justice, but do not fear me,’ says the Lord Almighty.”

Yes there are many layers to Old Testament writings. Even the Temple itself is a shadow of the throne of GOD.

I think you're taking things a little too literally.
A lot of symbolism was used in the Bible. Its a symbolic book. Not a literal account. Don't get too hung up on symbolism.

God's works often parallel the spiritual side - a picture, if you will, of the saving grace of Christ Jesus. You will find such pictures throughout the Bible.

Yes, have seen the same symbolisms repeatedly in the Bible. :)
Repetitiveness works well with children and with people with Autism and such....
LOL guess that means we ARE but children to God as well as being "challenged"! :)

Never mind the innocent dead, right. Christians seem hell bent on destruction. Stop and realize how much you speak of death and destruction. It is very disturbing.
