"Er--right."

"An' the Children of Israel built the Temple, right?"

"An' the Children of Israel fought the 'gyptians, an' the Children of Israel fought the Romans, an' the Children of Israel wuz always doin' somethin' important, right?"

Ok I am skinny and I work out and take care of my body. One of the things I do is drink a SlimFast every morning. I do this because I hate breakfast but I am hypoglycemic and need the protein (FYI it has 10 grams of protein :) !!!!!) Also SlimFast will only help you loose weight if you substitute it for two meals a day.

Anyways I usually bring one to work and MIND MY OWN business and I get dirty looks and comments. I had to start putting it in a cup. What makes me mad is I shouldn’t have to put it in a cup but why wont overweight people leave me alone!! Its non stop. I swear for all they know I WAS fat and that’s how i got skinny and they should ask my advise!!!!!

Im venting but come on why do overweight people ridicule it? Surely they are sick of getting dirty looks so why do it to me?

I understand that there won't be any eternal consequences if you're wrong, but don't you care about real things at all?

Disclaimer: Not all Christians incite problems just because the Bible tells them to... they're not all real Christians.

Could somebody please explain the difference to me?
How can you be "without a belief in pink unicorns" for instance, without "the belief that there are no pink unicorns"??

People always say no one can be perfect, but what if what they percieve as an imperfection, is perfect to me.

Like what if a person has all these qualities, and physical features that I think are the best, even if they are bad to someone else. Wouldn't that make the person perfect?

I heard about 7th heaven. So there are at least 7 heavens! Let me count:
Jewish heaven, Christian heaven, Muslim heaven, Hindu heaven, Buddhist heven, Confusianist heaven, Taoist heaven, Shinto heaven, Pagan heaven.

I counted 9. I am sure I missed some others. My point is: if one does not admit you, others will.

Care to comment?

Why do you follow a religion that continues to maintain a second-class role for women in many of its congregations today?

Why does Christianity in general refuse ordination for women as ministers or the priesthood?

Why does Christianity maintain the subservient role women are to fill in the household?

How do you deal with Apostle Paul's words: "As in all the churches of the saints, women should be silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as the law says. If there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church."

I would like to spend December 25 doing community service in New York. Please give me some advice as to what type of work I could do (like soup kitchens) and with which organizations? This is not for a long term commitment, only that one day. Thanks bunches!

My dad is now in a wheelchair, and I found out today that it just isn't as easy as it looks. I had to take him to the doctors and found that the ramps weren't cleared from the snow wide enough for the chair and I had to take him down a small hill and almost lost him. I want to make it easy on both of us.

I wasn't able to put my entire answer/thought on my previous on and you can't edit the dang thing so here it is...

“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

“And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” [Rev. 22:18–19] (Italics added.)

Let us first consider what John meant by “this book” and then consider what he meant by not adding to or taking from it. When John wrote the Book of Revelation in the latter part of the first century a.d., he was not writing the concluding pages of the New Testament, as there was no New Testament in existence at that time.

if you tell a fat person that "one cookie is enough" or "do you really think you should be eating that?" is considered rude?

I don't understand..if I don't want to eat donuts and cookies and all that gross food what business is it of yours? I don't care if you shove down another cupcake. So why care about me?

Sorry for ranting.. my office won't leave me alone for not eating all the crap at our office party.

There have been many questions on here today regarding the Christian biologist that was fired because he did not believe in evolution. I have a question- how can a biologist who studies life- miss the point that God created it? Life is so complex, how could we get here without being created. Just one thing about life is to amazing to me, not to believe. Every baby conceived from the first had a different set of fingerprints then the next-- NOT one person has the same set of fingerprints- this has to be by divine design.

The best possible system that God can set up is where 66 percent of the world's population who is not Christian will be burned in Hell forever when they die even if they are good people.

Do you agree?

Ultimately, the most important thing is to believe in the correct version of God. That comes first, because you can be a good person and give to charity all your life and be a good family member, but if you happen to believe in the wrong version of God even though there is no emperical evidence of which religion is true, you have to go to Hell forever along with murderers.

I can think of no better system. Can you? Didn't think so. This logic is well thought out.

God can ACTUALLY see into the future. He knows for A FACT that certain people who he creates will die without ever being Christians, but be good people and thus burn in Hell, yet He created them anyways.

If you aren't Christian, God does NOT send you to Hell, you VOLUNTARILY send yourself there.

Agree?

When I am asked how I can be so arrogant as to deny God, I frequently respond that it is as easy for me to deny the existence of Yahweh as it is for you, a Christian, to deny Zeus or any other number of mythical figures. Thing is, I never get a decent response. Usually they vary between "well, the bible says so" and "I have faith."

But I'm asking why. Why the Bible and not another book? Why faith in this diety and not some other diety? And to follow up, how is my denial of your God any more an act of arrogance than your denial of all Gods but one?

who's with me? let's see if we all pray together, even those of us who don't believe, let's pray that god and satan sit down and have a heart to heart with each other. maybe we could even get dr. phil to mediate the discussion, and hopefully they can make amends. i talked to satan already and he said he's willing to try if god is. how about it? do you think god is more concerned with fulfilling prophecy, than ending a war that's been carrying on for thousands of years and ending billions of lives? certainly he's not that vain, is he?

I view Christmas as a time when family can get together to celebrate. It's a time when there's a good feeling all about. The stores have sales (even if they make big money, it's just business, it's what they do, sell). There's decorative lights everywhere. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love how the mood in the air is. The "spirit of Christmas" is all around. People are nice to each other. Friends give each other gifts.

I don't view Christmas as a religious holiday. It may have been started out as one, but that's not the true meaning of Christmas today. Traditions change. In truth, December 25th isn't even the birth date of Jesus Christ (who may not have even been a real person). His real birth date (if he lived) was in March. People get too carried away with religious at times. No one sits down to think logically about it.

Christmas is a time of sharing joys. Don't ruin that by involving religion into it.
