I met a chick who told me shew grew up in church all throughout her young life, and her father was a preacher. Her brother is now a pastor in a small church in Arizona. She is a full blooded native American and says shes Christian.

Now heres the weird part, she claims that according to the bible, when humans die they become gods.

That humans are the bride of Christ, and after tribulations, she will become a god.

She says the holy trinity is evil, and that it represents 3 different gods, not one. And that god doesn't accept people baptized in the name of "father son holy spirit"

She believes that before there was light, the world was covered in darkness and that in this darkness roamed the first humans, which were dark skinned!

lastly, she believes in serpent seed doctrine, that eve had sex with satan in garden of eden, not that she ate fruit.

She claims that this is all within the bible and is what she firmly believes. it freaked me out a bit. Is this chick satans soldier?

It seems to me that most people who oppose gay marriages do so for religious reasons. It's CLEARLY stated in the constitution that the affairs of government and religion must be totally separated. How can someone who opposes gay marriages for that reason then be legally justified in his/her stand point? These people tend to be very conservative and religious strict. That's all fine and dandy, but the foundation of our country teaches that you shouldn't impose your beliefs on someone else.Everyone stresses moral issues and religious issues pertaining to gay marriages, but these are the same excuses that the government used when it banned interracial marriages, saying that God separated races by continents for a reason. Many of us now days see that as ridiculous, but isn't that what they're doing to the gays? If our founding fathers (very religious men) stressed the importance of separating religion and politics, shouldn't we take that into consideration? How can we outlaw gay marriage?

I hope I don't offend anyone by asking this, but how many atheists have been driven to do wonderful things for the world?
Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Pope John Paul II, Leonardo DaVinci, and many more have influenced the world, have sheltered the poor and the sick, have fought for liberty and against injustice. Though they worshipped different religions, they all did it in the name of their god.
Could you give me a few examples in either way? I'm not asking to offend, but to discover. I'm Christian, but no, I'm not a converting fanatic.
Please think through your answers, not just saying, "That's dumb."
Thank you and God Bless You.

Why every time there is some atrocity committed by a Muslim somewhere, Muslims in Western countries are expected to 'stand up' against it, even though they share nothing with the perpetrators except religion?

Why should this be the case when Christians are not expected to apologise for abortion clinic bombers and Hindus are not expected to apoligise for the LTTE?

Jehovah"s Witnesses' church to be saved?

2007-12-01 08:27:15 · 17 answers · asked by Nina, BaC 7 in Religion & Spirituality

I have told over and over time that I am non-denominational Christian. My church teaches the literal truth of the Bible and they lead us to a life changing and life saving connection to Jesus Christ who is our Lord and Savior.

Still I get "accused" that I do not tell what is my church. My church is the body of Chist who believe Jesus is Savior God.

How could I do better job explaining that I do not believe that we do not have to attend the same church denomionation worship when we believe we are saved by mercy and grace of God, Jesus?

THE SCOT

MacTaggart's wife went into labour in the middle of the night in rural turn-of-the-century Scotland, and the doctor was called out to assist in the delivery. To keep the father-to-be busy, the doctor handed him a lantern and said, "Here, you hold this high so I can see what I'm doing."

Soon, a lusty baby boy was brought into the world. "Och!" said the doctor. "Don't be in a rush to put the lantern by . . . I think there's yet another wee bairn to come."

Sure enough, within minutes he had delivered a bonnie lass. "Na, dinna be in a great hurry to be putting down that lantern, lad . . . It seems there's yet another one besides!" cried the doctor.

MacTaggart scratched his head in bewilderment, and asked the doctor, "Well, now, mon. Do ye suppose the light's attracting them?"

But the Bible shows that FAITH without WORKS is DEAD Usless, true faith in Jesus's ransom sacrifice causes people to seek the truth & act like Jesus
(1 Peter 2:21) 21 In fact, to this [course] YOU were called, because even Christ suffered for YOU, leaving YOU a model for YOU to follow his steps closely.

(1 Corinthians 11:1) . . .Become imitators of me, even as I am of Christ.

(James 2:14-17) 14 Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith but he does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it? 15 If a brother or a sister is in a naked state and lacking the food sufficient for the day, 16 yet a certain one of YOU says to them: “Go in peace, keep warm and well fed,” but YOU do not give them the necessities for [their] body, of what benefit is it? 17 Thus, too, faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself.

You see God does not ;have to allow just anyone to join the Christian Congregation, they have to meet his standards

Has any one ever clearly understood the celebrated story at the beginning of the Bible--of God's mortal terror of science? . . . No one, in fact, has understood it. This priest-book par excellence opens, as is fitting, with the great inner difficulty of the priest: he faces only one great danger; ergo, "God" faces only one great danger.--

The old God, wholly "spirit," wholly the high-priest, wholly perfect, is promenading his garden: he is bored and trying to kill time. Against boredom even gods struggle in vain.21What does he do? He creates man--man is entertaining. . . But then he notices that man is also bored. God's pity for the only form of distress that invades all paradises knows no bounds: so he forthwith creates other animals. God's first mistake: to man these other animals were not entertaining--he sought dominion over them; he did not want to be an "animal" himself.--So God created woman. In the act he brought boredom to an end--and also many other things!

I'm American and don't know a lot about the royal family but I heard some British people want to end the monarchy and have a republic. I like Prince William and Diana was wonderful. As for the rest they are o.k. They are not perfect but people shouldn't have such a beef with them. If people feel like they aren't doing enough in the government Parliment should just give them a little more power. Just make sure they don't abuse it. In America the president has a lot of power but can't abuse it a lot due to checks and balances. I don't think it is fair just to kick them out into the street.

One of my mom's friends is staying over for the week and I can't take it anymore! He's sharing my bathroom and he's so gross. We left him his own towel but he keeps using mine to dry after showers and leaves hair all over the floor (NOT FROM HIS HEAD~) and keeps leaving the toilet seat up. I'm afraid to say anything to him or my mom what do I do?
