i am sorry if i offended anyone. what i meant was, this is a christian country. i agree to respect other traditions, but again, we should be saying Christmas Sales and Christmas trees. Christmas is what most people celebrate in the U.S. Merry Christmas

I think it is wrong..I say and always do wish a Merry Christmas to someone first..and a Happy Holidays also..since we can't forget about everyone else's holiday traditions and New Years too..and if there is someone that is offended by it, than they can say so..I haven't had anyone do it yet..In my opinion, that is what it is called for the time between Christmas Eve and New Years..but heck, I was thinking this year that maybe wishing someone a Happy Holidays from Thanksgiving on isn't such a bad thing..but yes, for me as a Christian, I believe it is important to keep Christ in Christmas, just as it is just as important for other cultures holidays are to them..Please let me wish you and those you love a Wonderful Christmas and hope the Holiday Season is filled with many PEACEful moments for everyone..;0)

It actually ISN'T a Christian country. This country was founded on freedom OF religion (which includes freedom FROM religion).
I don't care, I'll say Merry Christmas and I'll say Happy Holidays. Doesn't bother me to say either of them.

say whatever feels right to you, and don;t worry so much about what other people say...whether this is, or ever was, a "Christian country" is debatable; my Savior is holy...assigning any country to Him seems somehow demeaning...but free speech IS officially and thankfully the law of the land...so i'm free to say 'merry Christmas'...and anyone who wants to say 'happy holidays' will get no quarrel from me...it's not like they're saying '%#@* you'...'happy holidays' is a friendly greeting, after all...why get offended by someone's gesture of friendliness? that makes NO sense at all to me

Ya know, Happy Holidays means Happy Thanksgiving, Christmas, & News Years all in one. Some people mean it that way. As far as being political, it is wrong to not say what you want to please others. Merry Christmas!

It's a secular nation. The founding fathers were Deists, not Christians.
Not a Christian country, sheesh. I do say Merry Christmas, though.
You should join this nutjob . . .

That is such an uneducated thing to say. This country is made up of all different kinds of people and many different religions. You should go back to school, public school.
