My dad was telling me that when he grew up in the 50's that the teachers would smoke in class and that even doctors would smoke. I am not trying to call my dad a lier, but where teachers really able to smoke in the class room. I watched a clip today on youtube of the day JFK was killed. the reporter was talking to a witness and there he was smoking a cig. You would never see that nowadays. thanks!

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

How many are afraid to express their growing opinion that the Evolutionary Theory is bankrupt, has a history of fraud, and has people acting very insecurely?

Doesn't tyranny teach that when a poll is taken or election held 90% of people agree?

Doesn't an open democracy teach that 60% of votes or opinion is a 'landslide' victory?

When you see statistics that 90% of all Biologists are Evolutionists, it proves that there is a lot of peer pressure to toe the party line.

The types of statements used to defend Evolution and stop us from asking questions sure do sound similar to the arguments used to enforce Communism during the Soviet Union.

If your answer is the European enlightenment, think again.

In the Early Middle Ages, when Europe was in the theocratic Dark Ages, rationalist thought was developing in the Islamic world.

Abū Bakr Muhammad ibn Zakarīya Rāzi (865-925) on the Qu'ran:

'You claim that the evidentiary miracle is present and available, namely, the Qu'ran. You say: "Whoever denies it, let him produce a similar one." Indeed, we shall produce a thousand similar, from the works of rhetoricians, eloquent speakers and valiant poets, which are more appropriately phrased and state the issues more succinctly. They convey the meaning better and their rhymed prose is in better meter. ... By God what you say astonishes us! You are talking about a work which recounts ancient myths, and which at the same time is full of contradictions and does not contain any useful information or explanation. Then you say: "Produce something like it"?'

Your thoughts?

If you believe in one God by definition you are not believing in the other Gods. Big categories of God rejection that don't overlap between groups. It's impossible to make right. The moment that someone says 'But this is the one true God', their atheism is proved. We're all brothers and sisters. We all reject Gods. Some entirely and some to a degree...... All thoughts welcome. Namaste

I thought about this once..

Could someone just become Amish if they wanted to or did one have to be born into it..?

Say I read about them and looked into there way of life and all and fell inlove with every about them and wanted to become part of there community..

Could someone do that.? Would that community except a person that was not born into there way of life..?

In my last question people said:

'Get an Education'
'Creation is no better off' - a concession about 1/3 made admitting that the evidence that should be there for Evolution is non-existent.

The fact is that the educated people are abandoning Evolution.

Another fact is that people who do not just accept Evolution as fact, keep asking questions. But a new phenomenon has occured.

Now, if someone asks a question that even insiuates that Evolution may be bogus, they are shouted down as being stupid. In history, whose behavior does this most mirror? Those who lived during the Renaissance Period or the Dark Ages?

Since when is questioning commonly held beliefs stupid or unscientific? Is not this the very first job of those interested in science?

Surely Christians think they get paid off, a nicer spot in heaven and whatnot, if they go about saying there is a God and praying and so on. Which is one of the reasons they do. Some of them even make money from other Christians. But why would anyone say there is no God, other than because it's the truth?

Do you visit the gravesites of your lost loved ones? I haven't been to my son's gravesite for (I think) about 2 years now. I used to visit and pray as often as I could when I was still a believer, but stopped going there after completely losing faith. But now, for a good week and a half, I've been wanting to go there again and I have no idea why. I can't pray. I can't communicate with him. What do you think is going on in a person's head when something like this happens? I mean, I guess, WHY am I suddenly wanting to go there again? Thanks for your answers :)

I can't believe I'm in the religion category, but, *deep breath* here goes:

I've heard a few people on Y!A saying that and atheist can't have morals because they have no God or fear of hell. Is this a common point of view? How do you feel about this idea?
