By raising a family, I mean having children, while maintaining a job, social life, social life for your kids, and a nice home. I personally think suburbs is the best (a suburb with good schools and friendly neighborhoods), but I would like to know the reasoning for the city or countryside.

Its been said he inserted a cryptogram (a message written in code) while he translated Psalm 46. In this Psalm, the 46th word from the beginning is shake and the 46th word from the end is spear. Furthermore, in 1610, while the King James was being translated, Shakespeare would have been 46 years old. Ever here of this theory?

If Gods are individuals who have passed through mortality and have progressed to Godhood, how has one person of the Trinity (the Holy Spirit) attained Godhood without getting a body? (See Acts 5:3,4)

I asked a question earlier concerning a verse in Matthew, about Jesus saying "The Kingdom of God is within you" and I asked what other christians were getting from this verse. It was a question! Why would it be removed?
SO ANYWAYS--once again- That verse in Matthew 21 I believe where Jesus says "The Kingdom of God is within you"
-Do you know what Jesus was speaking about? I like to see what other christians get from these scriptures.....also you may want to look up the verses surrounding it of course.

I am torn between Wicca and Catholicism. Earlier today, for the first time, I attended my first mass. I like the ritualistic feeling to Catholicism, and I like the fact that I can easily hear the word of God by simply going to a church service. However, the problem is that I don't want to believe some of the main laws of Christianity. 1) I believe that every religion prays to the same God; we just view Him or Her a bit differently. I know that Christianity does not share this viewpoint. 2) I definitely believe in a female deity, and I am unwilling to give that belief up. 3) Lastly, sex before marriage, I don't think it's a big deal. Anyways, my question is, do you think it's okay if I still attend Catholic mass (in light of my beliefs)? Can I listen to their message of love and apply it to my life without accepting all of their values? Also, how can I get closer to God as a Wiccan? I am tired of reading books. Thanks!

That is, apart from:

- The shameless hypocrisy
- The arrogant self-righteousness
- The willful ignorance
- The cynical indoctrination & poisoning of young minds with prejudice and hate
- The brutal imposition of 'biblical morality'
- The intrusive demands on how to act, what to think, what to believe, and who to kill for believing something else
- The inevitable miserable oppression consistently accompanying religion whenever it assumes any power

I mean, apart from all that, what could you possibly have against it?

In the Northern Highlands, an impatient fanner knocked at the door of neighboring farmhouse. The daughter of the house answered.
" Is your father in ? " asked the neighbor.
" No. " said the daughter. " He's at the Inverness farmers market. If it's the services of the red Ayrshire bull you want, the cost is $50.00" "
No it's not that" said the neighbor.
" Well. " said the daughter. " If it's the Galloway belted bull you want, it's $40." "
No, it's not that. " said the neighbor.
" How about the small Highland bull." said the daughter.
" The service of that bull is only $30."
The neighbor rudely interrupted the daughter. " That's not what I've come about. Your brother Sandy has made my daughter Fiona pregnant. My wife and I want to know what your father proposes to do about it."
" Oh, well." said the daughter. " You'll have to see my father yourself. I don't know what he charges for Sandy."

I came across Howiej28 question to Jehovah's Witness about a member who left the organization and how he can no longer speak to him. Why not? I am studing and my bible instructor did not tell me that current memebers can not associate with ex-members. So if I had a friend who left the organization I would not be able to communicate with them??? Even if they are still a good person but no longer believes what I believe? I do not know if I want to be apart of an organization that does that. So the love of the organizaiton is conditional??
So I will only be able to communicate with Jehovah Witnesses? That sounds cultish.

Christmas is coming, and I don't know what to get my best friend!

She became a Baptist a few years ago after athiesm, and has built a strong passion for it. She's turning 17, loves crosses, has many Bibles (but hasn't really read too much of them), and likes some Christian Rock (I think she listens to a group called Casting Crowns?).

I want to get her something that will let her know I;m grateful for everything she does for me. I shopped for some crosses, but I want to get her something truly special. I practice a different Christian religion and am not too enveloped in it, so I need help on deciding what to get her!

I just asked a question about people being offended by Merry Christmas, and some of the answers made me wonder about this subject as well! We are used to "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays," but we rarely hear "Happy Hanukkah" or "Happy Kwanzaa." Would you be a bit surprised or startled if a store worker said this to you after completing a sale?
