NASA says a Pole Shift is due on 2012. We are actually long overdue for the massive pole shift that occurs every 26,000 years.
It is stipulated that a Pole Shift annihilated the dinosaurs.
It is a possibility. Though, the Mayans spoke of TRANSFORMATION of the planet, not an end or termination.

I think anythings Possible.
And Just to correct you a little, Their calander only goes up to that date. The prediction is that "Life as we know it" will be drastically changed. Meaning humans could still survive whatever might happen that day, but more than likely more people will die than not. And a lady above said that's the day we are due for a pole shift. That my be accurte, but it's also the day the Sun will be aligned with the very center of the universe, which also happens only every 23,000 years and she is also correct that the last time this happened the dinosaurs were wiped out.

I hope it does not happen. If its got to due to natural causes I hope they send at least some peace loving people out there in a rocket to survive the disaster and come back and repopulate the world. I also hope all our science and technology somehow survives.
If it happens because we nuked each other it will be a shame.

I think nothing about it. It is a meaningful as any myth or legend. I don't believe in Norse or Sumerian theories either.
Here is a list of many times the earth has ended, I mean almost, ere was supposed to have ended.

I think if you go set your computer clock and date to Dec. 21, 2012 right now you can find out what will happen!

A theory is a statement of probability that's extremely well supported by empirical evidence.
The 2012 thing is not a theory, it's mindless superstition.

I think we'll wake up on January 1, 2013, and continue life.
some pseudo-Christians will pick a new doomsday date by Jan. 2. That one will be wrong, too.
