They are not allowed to drive, that is certain, I am not sure as to the rest. It would be a 10 second Google to find out. However that is just Saudi Arabia. Dubai, for example is more like Monte Carlo, than a Muslim country.

I can't remember what my daughter did when she was deployed to Saudi Arabia, but I DO remember that in Qatar, she drove a car, covered her head, arms , and legs (no big deal to her), and went shopping alone.
When someone T-boned her leased SUV, a man from the leasing agency had to come and talk to the police instead of her, but she was treated with courtesy and fairness.
ME(above), she liked and respected the Muslim people and speaks some Arabic.
It was interesting, and she says, "Its their country" and did not feel humiliated. She is an AF MSgt. and not a doormat by any means.
This WAS in the capital, nor is it directly relevant to the Holy Ground of Saudi Arabia, but is one woman's take on Arabic relations.

they can walk in public alone, and they can walk with covering their faces (and their hair nowadays). however, at the moment, they don't drive yet. but in the future they will. even though many girls drive illegally, it's still not allowed.. but it happens.
