LDS Tens If Gods are individuals who have passed through an earth life to attain Godhood, how is it that one person of the Trinity (Jesus Christ) was God before He received a body or passed through earth life? (Matt. 1:23 and Hebrews 10:5)

God's Word tells us that God is Spirit. He doesn't have a body and never did.

Through incorrect teaching, people think that God was once a man as they are and that they can become a god.

There is ONLY one God. He is the Alpha and the Omega. The Beginning and the End. The I AM. Beside Him, there is no other god. Only those who belong to cults believe otherwise and they don't learn their false religion from the Holy Bible, they learn it from false prophets.

God bless!

LDS-Ten's response is eloquent, but I will further her comments. Jesus Christ, the great Jehovah of the Old Testament, was the God of Israel and He was in spirit form then.

The Holy Ghost became a member of the Godhead when God the Father decided so--and for a very important reason. Because the Father and the Son have tangible, immortal, incorruptible bodies of flesh and bone, how else could the great gift of the Comforter speak from Spirit to spirit of man?

The Holy Ghost affirms and testifies to all truth and cannot lie, permeating our very spirits to give the answers we need. He testifies to the divinity of the Son as the Only Begotten in the flesh and the Savior and Redeemer of ALL mankind.

Little is elaborated on this Holy Entity, but I imagine in due course He will attain a mortal body that will be transfigured into the same-like body that the Father and the Son possess.

I echo what tens said. well done.

LDS don't believe in the trinity concept of the Nicene creed, or in "Gods". Only one true God with a capitol G -- God the eternal father, and in His Son Jesus the Christ, and in their Spirit prompter, the Holy Ghost. They do acknowledge however, that scriptures talk about "gods". (PSALM 82 :6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.)

Jesus attained His status before this earth, based on decisions and choices made - actions taken. He acts as one with The Father.

As to the nature of the Holy Ghost -- The Holy Ghost performs several vital roles in the plan of salvation.
1 He bears witness of the Father and the Son (1 Cor. 12: 3).
2 He reveals the truth of all things (John 14: 26; 16: 13).
3 He sanctifies those who have repented and become baptized (John 3: 5)

He doesn't have the full ability that God the Father has. Christ didn't before he was born into a taberncle of clay. Afterwards, he was able to receive the fullness of Gods powers.

The trinity doesn't actually exist. The Godhead on the other hand consists of The Father...the one true God, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost, and Jesus Christ for that matter, attained their position in the Godhead from their choices in the pre-existence. They act with the Fathers power and authority, with the Fathers guidance in all things. They act in the Fathers Stead, performing their specific jobs at His direction. The three have one will, one work, and one Glory. The Will of the Father, and their work and their Glory is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.

Hope that helps

here's an answer from an active LDS: That's actually a good question and i don't know the true answer. But I know someone who might. Ask our missionaries, who are trained to answer this kind of question. Ask them onlinne at mormon.org. Or try to ask a Bishop at a local LDS church.

I think you posted the wrong scripture reference. It has nothing to do with the post. There is no scripture that says God does not have a body.

For someone who claims to be an ex-LDS, you sure seem to have some gaping holes in our doctrine.
