Matthew 16:27 and 28

Jesus said he will come in the glory of this father, and he will reward every man according to his works; and there would be some standing there listening to him that would not die until they see him coming in his kingdom, with his angels.

All the people who were in his audience are long dead and gone and he has not returned.

What? No he was not talking about the transfiguration, because only his disciples saw that -- and he was not coming with his angels.

This was Jesus' most famous false prophecy. Anyone care to comment? I'm asking this question on Yahoo-Answers, and on two other forums, and I'm compiling all serious answers, and I thank all who respond.

For correlating passages see also Matthew 23:36

Also Mark 9:1 and Mark 13:30

Luke 9:27 and Luke 21:32

Okay, I have a Bible project to do on Habakkuk, and I can't seem to find a "visual" to show my class, I'm supposed to present it tommorow.

It can be anything from a drawing, to a diagram, or video. Any idea you guys?

I've looked on youtube for some videos on the book, but nothing seems to fit well.

Thanks,
Bella.

I thought people became atheists because of the acquisition of knowledge based on the discovey of facts that dispute the bible or other sources.

did He teach each one different things from the other? After He taught them, were they supposed to spread and teach the one faith or could they interpret it how they wanted and teach that version to others? Getting my drift?

10 points goes to the one who actually answers the question and doesn't dance around it.

Just curious about that.?

I've been answering some questions on evolution and some of the other answers are so amazingly ignorant of the facts that it is downright pathetic. Then, if you try to politely steer people to the websites that explain why what you are saying really is true, these people just simply refuse to even look because they seem to have the attitude "don't confuse me with the facts - I've already made up my mind". The level of scientific and mathematical ignorance to me is frightening - are there really people that stupid that they can't see the gigantic holes in their reasoning and so smug that they think they are right without ever once bothering to question it? Unfortunately the answer seems to be "yes", but I'm wondering if there's anything the rest of us can do to defeat this ignorance... permanently. Any suggestions as to how to get rid of this absurd overconfidence in what is clearly incorrect or am I barking at the moon?

Sorry to upset you, none believers
but have you seen some of the questions being asked
over a period
You accuse us as simples in believing in fairy tales
but you don't help your arguments, in your fashion of questions
You boast in your learning, and common sense 'but really'
I know some of you are well educated and sensible
but where are you. and how come you allow those small minded few' to make blaspemous silly statements, with no sensible jargon,
I hope you can understand,
Yes we have them' as well,

this is not ment for a fight, just wondering. i would get a little offended when some one would say "happy holladays" real offended when i would hear "merry Xmas" to the point i would say "ba humbug" amungst other things.

To me its "Merry Christmas"
the celabration of the birth of Jesus.

so, the question is, because i am curious, as to how many pagan rituals have infiltrated Christmas? And who´s bright idea was it to take Christ out of Christmas and put an X?

another question,

How would you feel if some one crashed your birthday party and said, "you are no longer invited" and on your cake, takes your name out and puts a big X?

I am just wondering? asking where the X came from and why its such a crime to say

"MERRY CHRISTMAS"

I'm an atheist and have never had an adverse reaction from anyone if ever the issue came up. Admittedly it is extremely rare for that to happen.
I was wondering if anyone had had a bad reaction when they mentioned it.

Do you ever wonder how different ours lives would be if we didn't have religion? Would it be better or worse?

Or on a different note, why do we have religion in the first place?

I am curious as I grew up in a community where it was better off to say I was Catholic rather than doubtful. I do not hate, by any means, the tradition I was brought up in. I'm just curious if it is easier to say you are Christian or Muslim or whichever in certain communities? My current community is very accepting of everything and it has influenced my choices, positively. Any perspective on this from all? Thank you and many blessings:)

Should Women rule the world?

As a man,I say YES!

Now Deep thinking women will say NO

Women who don't put much thought into things will say yes, because they think they will still be able to keep all of the advantages of being a woman in this current society.(boy are they gonna be dissappointed!-LOL)
