I am not irritated, just honestly wondering. Maybe naive?

Guess I'm just surprised that someone who has rejected God or religion is still interested in what others have to say about it. Still searching? Good for you.

I come along here because I enjoy the debate and I am genuinely interested in people's beliefs and thought patterns, whatever their beliefs.

You have every right to ask this question. I have in the past. It is perfectly okay for atheists to post here. Yet don't be surprised if their opinion is overwhelmingly leading to one viewpoint. The same could be said for theist. Some atheists can at least humor themselves and see the viewpoint of a theist, but some just don't. Peer pressure perhaps.

When you post a question or give an answer on RS, are you capable of seeing things from their advantage? If not, then you should reevaluate your unwavering stance on things as well.

Before I answer, just so you know, I'm a Christian.

The way I look at it is, this is the section to discuss religion and spirituality. Atheism is the rejection of God, so they have every right to be here, just as the rest of us do.

Besides, it would get really boring here if atheists hadn't been kicked out of the cats section!

Why do the Christians always answer an atheist's questions? Maybe we need an Atheist section, but until that happens we'll be cruising the aisles here.

It's not a god section. It's a general topic called religion and spirituality. It's exactly where you would find atheists that want to discuss this topic.Even if they don't believe.Besides, other topics are brought up like science issues that blurr the line even more.So the atheists, being about the only people that seem to actually understand science(with the exception of a few of the brighter religious people)come here to educate the religious pious.>>>>>ha haha ha.One of the dumb one's must have thought,he must be talking about me.thumbs down.ha ha hah ahaha

This section is called 'religion and spirituality' because it's meant for all people of different religions or spiritual beliefs to discuss their views, whether they believe or not, it's not just for those who believe in Jesus/god.

Maybe they should create and atheist section, but then again christians would likely join in. So, you can't really win.

this is the religion section? i guess i should get out because i was under the impression that this was religion AND SPIRITUALITY section.

just because i am an atheist does not mean i do not believe in spiritual things. plus i've always loved mythology and that's really what religion is.

This is a questions and answers forum, obviously, to decide that organized religions are false, most atheists have studied theology. We don't believe everything that is told to us as children.

Who do you think would be more useful in a question and answers forum? Most Christians I see here don't even really understand their own religion, and often provide nothing more than meaningless spam to questions regarding other religions. This isn't a message board, why are you here?

Atheism is the rejection of religion. That means it is ABOUT religion. So this is the place to talk about it. And this question gets asked like 50 times a day. Are you guys really that insecure that you can't take criticism?

we are here to bug the god botherers
they are thrusting religion on us and our children without a care in the world.
we are here to put decent views across and to stop decent people getting hurt by all the lies and spouting of verses from a book that is fiction and not fact.
religion hurts decent people and causes wars and famine and the sooner people realise that the better.
