You hardly get any informed responses?

The common argument is "we do not worship we venerate".

Venerate is not an English word, it is a transliteration from Latin.

Therefore, to change the definition when the word in transliterated in to English, it is a deception.

Why lie about it. Veneration means to worship. Venerating saints and Mary is idol worship.

If you are so confident in this practice, respect the authority of the Church more than Sola Scripture anyways, and then why not proudly say, "Yes, we worship Mary & the Saints"?

Why are you embarrassed about it to the point that you have to be deceptive?

Every X-mas, we always spend a crapload on gifts because we never want to leave anyone out. This X-mas I thought why not just buy for my 2 year-old and husband? Is that wrong? And should I let people know that?

Well, folks, it's just about that time of year again!

When spreading holiday cheer which is your preferred saying? Is "happy holidays" taking the place of "merry Christmas" all over the place -- or just when addressing someone who's beliefs you're unsure of?

also - in your opinion is it appropriate for a non-Jew to say "happy Chanukah" to a Jewish person?

I think the superficial women who participate in cliques are simply the same girls who had them in high school that never quite grew up. I find their behavior insulting. I run into this every day at my child's school. They actually stand in a group out front of the school, and although they squint and say hello briefly in passing (I have nearly stopped returning these fake greetings...why BOTHER???), they ignore you if you are not part of their little group. I am not the only one frustrated by this. It wouldn't be so bad if my daughter hadn't lost her best friend because I wasn't good enough for her mother (they are no longer allowed to play outside of school)!!! I don't know if it's because I'm WAY prettier than her and weigh about half of what she does, or if it's because I am self-employed and she is just now re-entering the workforce, but her attitude make me want to HORK....

This event goes against the most observable fact of nature. People die, and they do not come back to life. Based upon this observable evidence the resurrection did not happen either.

By the way, if you deny the resurrection, you cannot be saved. Romans 10:8-10.

Do you see the contradiction? Or do you not really believe after all?

New research assesses the impact of the collapse of the North American (Laurentide) Ice Sheet, 8000 years ago. The results indicate a catastrophic rise in global sea level led to the flooding of the Black Sea and drove dramatic social change across Europe.

researchers created reconstructions of the Mediterranean and Black Sea shoreline before and after the rise in sea levels. They estimated that nearly 73,000 square km of land was lost to the sea over a period of 34 years. Based on our knowledge of historical population levels, this could have led to the displacement of 145,000 people.

Archaeological evidence shows that communities in southeast Europe were already practising early farming techniques and pottery production before the Flood. With the catastrophic rise in water levels it appears they moved west, taking their culture into areas inhabited by hunter-gatherer communities.

What SHOULD she have done?
Friend "A" (white) was at my house for a party and I guess she dropped the N*bomb in front of friend "B" (black) and the room just got quiet for a minute and she changed the subject. From what she told me (and from what I know of her), she didn't say it in a mean way or with any hate in her heart whatsoever, it was just one of those things where it's like, "I've seen the movie 'Friday' ONE too many times" and I guess it just kind of came out. Also, friend "A" is closer to friend "B" than me- that's how I know friend "B".
I wasn't in the room when it happened...but had I been, is there anything I could have said or done to fix it and not destroy the mood of the party? What should friend "A" said? Friend "A" said that friend "B" didn't say anything, but friend "B" is really quiet and easygoing anyway. Any thoughts?
