Its a well known fact that Monkeys split from the humans with the advent of the poo slinging gene. They're bodies and minds are attuned to the proper aerodynamics and in-flight aesthetics of poo "en route".
Survival of the fittest - they used poo as a defense from predators.

I am getting SO TIRED of this question! I know when your typing it in, Yahoo shows you the MILLION OTHER TIMES its been asked.
PEOPLE did not evolve from MONKEYS. We EVOLVED from an Ape like animal. How ever, not all apes and monkeys evolved from the SAME ancestor that we share with Chimpanzees. Pick up a book, and do some research. Your only making your self sound incredibly ignorant. Learn about something before you try to mock it.

Essentially the claim is that humans are just a different species of monkey, which is why all other monkey still exist... We are supposedly just a monkey with a bigger brain which happens to have come about many thousands of years ago.

Read up on Phylogenetics or Cladistics, it has to do with environmental pressure and the need to adapt. Some hypothetical prosimian race had one group of offspring that stayed in the jungles and another group of offspring that went out to the plains and savannah. The one that went out onto the plains needed to be able to see off at a distance to find threats and so started learning to stand erect. If you are just being a troll baiter then this answer was much more pedantic than you expected but I hope it helps.

Because only one particular line of primate evolved into man-like apes and eventually man. The other line continued to be monkeys. Even among men, there are still those who obviously haven't gone far. In the writings of Zecharia Sitchin, the extraterrestrial Anunnaki bound their genetic "image" on an advanced primate to fashion man. So man may be the first genetically-modified organism.

Scientists don't claim we evolved from monkeys that are around today. Just a common ancestry. But even if they did, single species have been isolated into separate groups under different environmental conditions and evolved into different species that both exist at the same time.

OK buddy now when you type in your question. There is this little thing that pops up, It shows you ANY questions that may be similar. If you notice one that is EXACTLY like yours then look at that one instead of posting your question. there are like MILLIONS of the same question. And it all boils down to YOU being an IDIOT and not knowing what you are talking about. I understand you like to misinterpret what you read or hear about. Or you like to follow those that are willfully ignorant themselves. but see the issue is that with this question you have shown your extreme stupidity. and that makes you unpopular.

Because, according to the theory of evolution, people aren't descended from monkeys. All primates are descended from some kind of early primate. People came from one branch of the family tree and other primates, including the various species of apes and monkeys, came from other branches.

Don't be obtuse.
There are over 300 species of simians that scientists know of....with new species being discovered periodically.
Your question is too precious and either shows a complete lack of knowledge of the animal world or a serious lack of education....or, you are being specious.
