Strictly speaking - yes.
Most witches don't believe in the god of the Bible or the Koran. (Although I know some Christians who see no problem in going to church on a Sunday and still go to the witches' congregation on a full moon or other holy night.)
That does NOT mean they are worse people than Christians. They may be as moral or immoral as e.g. Christians or Buddhists are, witchcraft per se is just the practicing of a different religion, which does not rely on a "holy writ"
Wiccans (Wicca is one big branch on the fertile tree of new paganism) believe that you are not allowed to try to harm, coerce or deceive other people by the use of magic.

Witchcraft isnt against god at all.
It gets a lot of bad press from christianity, which came later, absorbed/altered half of the customs, and then tried to erase the rest that didnt fit or suit them -one of the best ways is by negative propoganda (ie slagging them off as evil).
They link the devil with the male god, which is horned. In fact I think the horns (ie of a stag) are a perfectly suitable icon of natural male sexuality. We all know what 'being horny' is a metaphor for -and its a perfectly natural thing too.
Nature (which include sexuality of course) is what religions like witchcraft encompass freely. Unlike christianity which is terrified (or very uncomfortable) about sex -thats why it makes such a big fuss about adoring the Virgin Mary, being celibate, etc. Christians like to believe theyre "more civilised" than to admit they have a sexual side -using a bit of moral snobbery to cover their embarrassment. The two religions are polar opposites on this matter, so theres no surprise that there is friction here.
As for the subject of black magic, this is supposed to be doing witchcraft to do bad instead of good. Well if you look upon magic as power, its the same as fire or money or a knife - it can be used for bad or good -its up to the user how they handle it. There are people who mis-use it, just like there are some christians going round breaking the Ten commandments. In all walks of life there are rebels.
Traditional witchcraft teaches to do only good -otherwise if you do harm, it will come back on you threefold.

People fear what they don't understand, and it is easier to just say something is bad and not try to do any kind of research.
I am a witch, not Wiccan. Again, not all witches are Wiccan nor do we practice the Wiccan religion. So if someone is asking about witchcraft it should not be assumed they mean Wicca. However, that does not make us bad people. We are generally more accepting and tolerant than most other religions.
We firmly believe in harming none (just as is in the Wiccan Rede) and the law of 3.
It is against the Abrahamic God because the Holy Books say so (but not directly as witchcraft). However it is not against any of the Gods in any other religion, and there are a lot of them out there.
We believe we are here to help people and nature, not destroy in any way. We believe that the Powers that be created things on earth to be used and protected, not abused just because we feel superior (if you believe you are superior to nature you are sadly mistaken)! So many people destroy things in nature in the name of "progress" without ever thinking about the consequences.
Sorry, got on my soap box! It is just that I believe in protecting and appreciating nature to the best of my ability. If this is bad then there is something really wrong out there.

Actually, the Bible says certain specific magical practices are not allowed. All mentions of "witchcraft" were added in the 17th century. What definition of witchcraft are you asking about? In the 17th century, when that problematic word appeared in the Bible, it meant *malevolent* magical practice. Today, self-described witches use the word "witchcraft" to refer to a folk-derived magical practice. Whether used for help or harm doesn't matter in the modern usage of the word. Modern witches do not have a common religion. Some are atheists. Some are Christians. Some are Satanists. Some are Wiccans. Some are Jews. Some are other things. I consider myself a magical practitioner, although I do not consider myself to be a witch. I am also a Wiccan, and I worship my Lord and Lady. I know I am responsible for my actions, so I strive not to do things magically or mundanely that unduly hurt others.

God and Satan are Christian based. Witchcraft(Wicca)is NOT based on the rules of Christianity. People say Wicca is bad because for the last 2000 years the christian church has tried to outlaw it because they are trying to(still)rule the world. Wicca doesn't view "God"or christianity as the"One True God" therefore they are rejected by the church. The Wiccans have their belief in the god and goddess, the god being symbolized as"the horned one"which they view as being the devil, when in fact their is no evil, no good, it all just is.

Witchcraft is practiced by almost every religious group. Including Christians. Witchcraft, strictly speaking, is active prayer. Anyone who tells you different hasn't taught classes on it, I have.
People say it's bad because they are ignorant. Plain and simple.

Witchcraft is nothing to do with satanism, it is a very ancient form of religion based on nature, the changing seasons, herbs, cycles of the moon and planets. it is very powerful, but scares people who are ignorant of the world around them. If God created the earth how can witchcraft be against God?

It is not against God. However, many people believe witchcraft is satanism which is why people think witchcraft is going against God. (I don't practice witchcraft though.) ><

The name itself means "Craft of the wicked". It refers to those who various faculties as an end to themselves. Many people are confused concerning what witchcraft is and some, like modern wiccans like to associate themselves with witches. Even occultists back in the day made note of the negativity of witchcraft.

Witchcraft and other religions just dont mix. If you look throughout history you will see that on a norm we one does not fully understand something they deem it bad. Witchcraft is like anything it depends on how it is used. It can be bad but then again it can be good....take fire it can heat/cook etc but it can also destory and kill...so is fire good or bad?
