The Ten Commandments
1.You shall have no other Gods but me.
2.You shall not make for yourself any idol, nor bow down to it or worship it.
3.You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
So why then do u associate Jesus as your lord? He never said he was your LORD. how can Jesus take the place of his 'father'?

I have a group of friends from work. All of us go to Hooters when the UFC fights are on and eat and drink and have a good time. This month, I invited my boyfriend as well.

My boyfriend does not care for the fights at all. He is coming only because he had to work late Friday night, so this is the only time he could be with me this weekend.

He is nervous about being around my buddies for several reasons, so I thought maybe he and I would get our own table. Some people in our crowd do this, and no one has a problem with it.

But he will be coming straight from work and will be late -- almost halfway through.

So do I have to sit by myself for the first half until he joins me, or can I sit with the group and then get a table with my boyfriend when he arrives?

The second choice seems reasonable, but I'm afraid that, when he arrives and I leave the table, someone will ask why the boyfriend doesn't just join the group, and it'll be awkward. I don't want to offend anyone.

When it's really not example;

Complains about how mother is charging her rent. She's 39 living with her mother!

my response,"I don't have advise, I've been paying rent since I was 18"

is there a nicer way to deal with these people??

I ask,"How are you doing?" in the morning and I (regret asking) get,"Oh terrible!!"

I think, WE all have problems..and we should just look at the positives and stop making everything negative..
I'd hate to be rude and say,"you know I have problems too but I don't bring them to work!"
She grew up in a nice neighborhood..
When she's in a bad mood she'll ignore you like it's your fault I honestly tried to be friendly but hey I'm getting ready to tell her off!! What is the proper way to deal with this?

My oven is not working and I won't be able to get a repairman to fix it before Thursday -- be lucky if I can get one before Christmas here in Tasmania, but that is another problem all together. However, I want to make Thanksgiving Dinner for a few friends and family and need to find a place that will cook my turkey for me. I can do all the rest. Does anyone know a place in Hobart that will cook a turkey?

Here's the scoop. My teen daughter has 99% black or mixed friends. She is white. Certain people in my life verbally voice their opinions to me that my daughter talks, dresses, does her hair, eats, whatever, you name it, like the African American culture. I am aware of this as a fact. But,I do not see anything wrong with it, I have always told my kids to be who they are and who they want to be. I have always taught them to accept all cultures and nationalities. Do you see anything wrong with all of this

If I didn't believe in God, what would be the motivation for not killing someone over a simple disagreement. Why not rape, or steal, or abuse? This things would bring instant satisfaction.
DON"T answer prison or jail because there are far too many people who are NEVER brought to justice in this life.
Without a belief in a higher power of justice, what would keep people from acting like untrained animals?

I have been walking in the indescribable Presence of God after I returned to the Garden and Kingdom of God after my salvation and subsequent spontaneous, involuntary Baptism of the Holy Spirit on March 13. Yet Jesus Christ says there will be times when we will seek Him and not find Him, times of drought. I have had a spiritual abundance of the Presence of God (Holy Spirit/Shechinah) since my Baptism, and see God present in everything I do and the entire world that I perceive.

Yet, I read someone on here who had the Presence leave them after 7 years and then they had to walk by faith. This would scare me, although I have faith in God, to not dwell in His Presence for the rest of my life.

After your Baptism and indwelling (enlightenment), has the Presence of God left you for any reason? When? If so, did it ever come back or did you ever recover it?

thanks

(I don't believe in the Christian God, this is for arguments sake)

If God is all-powerful why wouldn't he stop the worst evils from happening, such as the development of disease causing bacteria, or viruses, or famine?

The free will argument just doesn't work. If God is all-good, and all knowing, there should be a point he'd know when to say "alright, I have to come in and put a stop to this".

Why would God put an evil person's free-will above the happiness of a lot of good people?

In these serious situations, if there's an all powerful all knowing being that doesn't do anything, doesn't that make them evil by lack of action?

According to the pagan origin, He was born in spring. Then why do we celebrate it in december? Also where did God come from. He had to come from SOMETHING. He couldn't have just popped out of nowhere. Thats not logical whatsoever. If you dont believe in God, don't answer. I want a christians opinion.

I have been accused of misleading atheists in some of my questions. How can an open minded person that examines EVERYTHING, be mislead by me? You claim you haven't been mislead by religion or the bible...but somehow I can mislead you.

All I said is 1+1=1 and stated this as a fact. I got a lot of very ugly replies...calling me all kinds of names. Then when I showed that this indeed is a fact, I got more angry replies saying it wasn't fair because I mislead them. I did no misleading, if any of you were mislead, that is due to the assumptions you made yourself by not being open enough to alternate possibilities.

So, please tell me...how can I, a normal person, mislead you when you have the capability of not being mislead by something that has been around for 1000s of years?

Also, how many of you still think I am crazy for saying 1+1=1?
