I don't hate him. I've never even met him. Why would I hate him? Just because I believe something different doesn't mean I "hate" anything. Presumptuous don't you think?

Weren't you at the last Satanic meeting? You know the one where all of us non-christians got together sacrificed goats and small children all because we hate god and worship lucifer? I coulda sworn i saw you there. Oh well, next meeting is on christmas, the agenda is going to be on how to try to convince the christians that christmas has nothing to do with christ. Hope to see you all there.

Unfortunately, in some groups, that idea that anyone who does not follow their religious belief "hates" God is part of what they are being taught. It is a similar phenomenon to the idea that anyone that isn't a Christian is automatically a Satanist. The sad part is so many people simply accept the idea without question and accept the miniscule bits of mis-information and DIS-information they are provided with as aboslute truth.

They assume it because they are small-minded and/or brainwashed.

I'm not Indian yet I love curried lamb.
I'm not Mexican yet I love chimichangas.
I'm not Chinese yet I love hot & sour soup.

Yahweh/Jehovah/Allah is not the only game in town. The monotheists would rather believe we "hate" their middle eastern tribal god than admit that other gods exist from other parts of the world.

They refuse to acknowledge that anything else exists outside of the Bible. They think that if you're not Christian, then you must be "of the devil." Devil = Hate, so they wrongly assume that those of us who aren't Christian hate God. They also incorrectly assume that all people, Christian or not, believe in the Christian god. Their overly strict dogma has blinded them and closed their minds to the rest of the world, so they are unaware of/have grossly incorrect perceptions of other beliefs.

That is a rather broad and general statement. Perhaps some people would assume if you aren't Christian that you "hate" God. Others would simply understand that you prefer to have your own beliefs. While some would just assume that it's none of their business.

Many people have such a deeply ingrained belief in God that they become unable to imagine how somebody could NOT believe in God. They then conclude that atheists can't really not believe in God, since they imagine it to be so difficult, and so they decide that instead atheists just hate God and do not worship him. It is all very irrational, but then, what do you expect from theists?

It's the Christian ego! Somehow they think they are the sole franchisees of "God" on earth and sometimes God and Christian become interchangeble! So to not believe as them is to hate them or "God"!
Huge Huge ego!

It would never occur to me that people who are not Christians hate God. How can you hate something in which you do not believe?

Wow, do they assume this with Muslim and Jewish faiths too?

Even if we have different beliefs, your comment on "hate" shows good morals.
They should learn a lesson from you and not be so judgmental.

More like ignorance. They've got the blinkers on to life, and cant understand anything outside the words of the Bible.
