I have been accused of misleading atheists in some of my questions. How can an open minded person that examines EVERYTHING, be mislead by me? You claim you haven't been mislead by religion or the bible...but somehow I can mislead you.

All I said is 1+1=1 and stated this as a fact. I got a lot of very ugly replies...calling me all kinds of names. Then when I showed that this indeed is a fact, I got more angry replies saying it wasn't fair because I mislead them. I did no misleading, if any of you were mislead, that is due to the assumptions you made yourself by not being open enough to alternate possibilities.

So, please tell me...how can I, a normal person, mislead you when you have the capability of not being mislead by something that has been around for 1000s of years?

Also, how many of you still think I am crazy for saying 1+1=1?

Vishal, I made no qualifications...those were assumed by those who answered...not my fault. Never assume, should be the first point in being "open minded".

battleship potemkin, it is part of boolean algebra...without it...good luck having a computer function. In boolean algebra "+" = "OR" and "*" = "AND". Look it up.

Still so much closed minded answers. Try to think in a different direction...there are more ways then just boolean algebra...be creative.

You misled them by intentionally using non-standard definitions of terms without specifying it.

Without specification, it is assumed that discussion of arithmetic is discussion of standard arithmetic. By saying that 1+1=1 and not qualifying it by saying that you were using Boolean arithmetic, you were misleading people.

EDIT:
I know you made no qualifications. Without qualifying your statement, people took your terms to mean what they generally mean. When you use technical terminology without qualifying it, you are misleading people.

No matter how much you pontificate, you're still wrong. The plus sign (+) is NOT part of Boolean Logic.

"...if any of you were mislead, that is due to the assumptions you made yourself..."

It is quite proper to assume that the plus sign (+) means to add the two numbers before it together (or the two number surrounding it for you non-RPN types). What you did was analogous to me suggesting that the slash (/) means to multiply the two numbers before it (RPN again).

"Also, how many of you still think I am crazy for saying 1+1=1?"

Not crazy, just attempting to make a stupid point with an invalid analogy.

Tolerance doesn't mean accepting wrong answers.

The obvious answer is that there dogmatic religious folks are so heavily indoctrinated with lies that they cannot recognize deception. You continue the pattern, by failing to mention the fact that you did not use proper notation. You have this pattern of turning to deception, denying the deception, then yelling at people for pointing out your deception.

You seem to have the morality of a Creationist. A lie is not a sin if you use it to promote religious doctrine because you can always lie again to defend the lie.

You were the closed-minded person who could not think of using Ō and Ī as proper notation.

There has been a lot of atheists "mislead" by Christians, so it is possible.

And could you explain that 1+1=1 again?

You make a statement, unqualified in any way, which is false. If you wanted to get an alternative response you should have made your point clearer.

1+1=1 = wrong.

What you have done is you have streotyped atheists and basically compared one or a few idiots to the entire population of atheists.

Sounds quite closed minded to me.

Just being open minded does not mean you will accept anything or consider EVERYTHING that passes you by throughout your whole entire life. That thought is ALSO closed minded.

Buddy, I would never allow you to be in control of me, let alone mislead me. Too funny...lol
You apparently think quite a bit of yourself to come out with nonsense such as this.

It certainly seems like you set out to mislead. Why are you feeling affronted? For being exposed? For failing misearbly?

Thats quite the misleading question. Actually, with all due respect, why are other people's relationships with God so important to you?

1 + 0 = the birth of God (thanks bill bisset)
