I was raised Christian (Fundamental Baptist). Christianity made my life miserable as a child because of the unusual strictness and the loneliness I experienced. I wasn't allowed to do anything or go anywhere except church. I had nothing in common with the other kids at school, got bullied because of it, and was friendless for the most part. I was depressed because of this, and the cold, hard, cruel, self-important Christian god seemed to be absent. Praying to him was like praying to the wall. Also, the older I got, the more I realized the inaccuracies and contradictions in the Bible, and the hypocrisy and intolerance in the Christian community. So I ditched it.

I began to research other religions, and when I was 16, I found out about Wicca. Then, at 19, I felt that Traditional Witchcraft was better suited for me. I am 32 now, and I am more than happy with my faith of choice.

If you really want to know, i guess I just started questioning it. It took some time, like a boomerang I went back to it as a security blanket during hard times. Eventually, after reading about pagan religions, I realized how male based the monotheistic religions were. I think that's what got me to toss that boomerang, and it never came back. I didn't become a pagan, instead I believe in what my heart and mind tell me is right. I am now reading the Tao De Ching. I'm on a never ending journey of self discovery.

I started reading books on the history of the church, then books on comparative religions, then books on the origins of religion, books on the origin of myths, and so on, I'm sure there is still much more to learn. I still believe there is a Creator, and I try to live by the Golden Rule, 'do unto others as would like them to do unto you', for this is the sum of all law and the prophets.

One can lose their religion. In fact we would love
for some to lose their religion,so they could be
saved.Satan is a religious fanatic.He loves false
religion, because it keeps people bound in sin and lost.
Jesus came to seek and save the lost. You have to be lost before you can be found.
When Jesus saves you,you are saved for
all eternity. That's why he called it eternal
salvation. If you could lose salvation it couldn't
be called eternal.Jesus is the keeper of his
sheep.He's the good Shepard.

You loose your religion when you can put aside selfish endeavors, walk the walk and Not just Talk the Talk. that's what's wrong with Religions today. Treat people with kindness whenever they think they are really giving you a back handed slap and Insult you to your face. When they steal everything from Your name to your belongings and You can still manage to smile. When you can forgive them for their offenses and can walk away in Peace and then Wish them well in all there endeavors. You have Lost Religion!

I found I was going to church in spite of the other congergants efforts to drive me away. After asking if I could participate like the other preachers kids were and being told no, I realized that love and acceptance wasn't their goal, only security was. I am secure in my faith and don't need those who aren't.

I never did lose it. I still have it. It HAS changed somewhat. But its always there, even in times when I have been foolish enough to think its not.
