or in bed, so I figure I can let it all hang

Since Seniors is getting kinda boring,

So what you all say to a cruise to the
Bahamas? Or Mazatlan? I still have some space on my cc. Please tell me
where we all want to go. People are

That looks like he is stealing garlands off the house.
With the hands extended so I can tie garlands in his hands (so it looks like he is stealing the decorations off the house.

In other words as we move on from the Evangelical phase/thrust of the past 200+ years, what do you think the church will/should focus on to succeed, or be relevant for the next few upcoming generations. Other major phases of Christianity in the past have been the Contemplative, Social Justice and Charismatic phases, which only mean that the church seemed to focus on one of these main practices during different times throughout history.

It's heart wrenching, went to one today. A friend of ours daughter (mother of 3 teens) was killed in Iraq Nov. 5. I can't tell you how angry I am at the Pres. and how selfishly fortunate I feel my son came back alive.
When they performed the 21 gun salute and played taps I had to hum a song to myself in my head so I wouldn't break down...so awful.
So...if you have been...your thoughts on a military honor funeral?

If th ebible doesn't specefy that it is wrong, shouldn't it be a matter of conscience, whether you celebrate a birthday or not?
I see this as adding rules to the scriptures that are not there...I also know that this issue has been debated in the governing Body for years and years.

In Biblical times, the culture was much like Japan today. Honor was sought in every action a person did, and shame was to be avoided at all cost. Crucifixion was intentionally the most dishonorable death one could have. The Jewish historian Josephus described it as "the most wretched of deaths." Now if Christians were to hold to Jesus being the Son of God after He had been executed, they would have surely been in an incredibly dishonorable position and dismissed without further consideration. Think about it. Claiming that God in the flesh would suffer such humiliation should have been suicide for the Christians.
Unless, of course, there was undeniable proof Jesus rose from the dead and reversed the dishonor of the cross. And in the Bible, it says that Jesus appeared to hundreds after His resurrection. Unless Jesus had really been raised from the dead and seen by witnesses, there would be absolutely no reason to hold this dishonorable position which would lead to the martyr and persecution of many of the early Christians.
