I believe they are saying to do what they cannot do, and that is to expand your horizons. At least look into the subject, read the bible and then make an informed decision.

Do you mean "close to God"? If you do than being close to God is a choice, it isn't something you can just turn on and off you have to work at it.

You must admit your spiritual needs, humble yourself, and earnestly search for the true God. It seems many people cannot do this. If you do this, God will draw you to himself.

i am not knocking personal fantasy but one should admit what it is whether close or not . fantasy has much merit in harmony with the real world but not as the real world.
