As far as I know they don't. I think there is something called bardo, like an intermediate set of three stages and after that the dead being enters nirvana or goes back to life by reincarnation

yes but they re either a psycological aspect of life or a realm of existance which is esxapable as it is in samsara (cycle of birth death and rebirth) their are six realms of beings starting from the top they are gods, demi-gods, humans, animals, hungry ghosts, and hell beings.
