Since you don't seek immortality or even a fountain of youth.

What can I do for my neighbor who I really don’t know well. Their house is on fire as I write this. The fire department is on scene they have it under control and it is far enough from my house. I feel so helpless for them. I want to go our there and hug them. I too had a house fire last November 2, 2006. I saw the flames and those feelings of helplessness and hopelessness came back again. I pulled up on my street and saw it. I sat in my car and wept when I pulled in the drive. My Next door neighbor is down there but I cant bring myself to go. I’m afraid I would break down right there on the spot being as I have walked that mile in their shoes. Is it wrong for me not to show support and walk down there? Am I being selfish?

From the book you study from, choose Chapter 24 or 7 and verse 24 or 7. Tell me what it says and what it means for you?

my interest is to see if there is a correlation between the many religions and books of worship. Thanks

I'm not looking for a "because God said so" answer. I'm looking for a real answer.

Historically, what is the reason? Is it simply an attempt by earlier Jews/Christians/Muslims to replace the older pagan religions by scaring people away from them?

Jesus was Jewish. Jews do not take Christ as the messiah, so would Jesus even believe he is a savior if he were alive today?

I understand that many of you don't believe in god, spirits, the bible, etc but historically there's proof of a big flood from other ancient cultures in the world, including the Native American cultures. So do you believe there could've been a Noah that saved a lot of animals and his family from a giant flood by building an ark and letting them reside there?

Does anyone know the difference between your and you're? Please, please, please learn the difference! It drives me crazy seeing all the people making this mistake.

Your - of or relating to you or yourself or yourselves especially as possessor or possessors. (ex. Is that your dog?)

You're - is a contraction of "you are." (ex. You're making me angry.)

The Christian god is defined as a personal being who knows everything. According to Christians, personal beings have free will. In order to have free will, you must have more than one option, each of which is avoidable. This means that before you make a choice, there must be a state of uncertainty during a period of potential: you cannot know the future. Even if you think you can predict your decision, if you claim to have free will, you must admit the potential (if not the desire) to change your mind before the decision is final. A being who knows everything can have no "state of uncertainty." It knows its choices in advance. A being that knows its choices in advance has no potential to avoid its choices, and therefore lacks free will. Since a being that lacks free will is not a personal being, a personal being who knows everything cannot exist. Therefore, the Christian god does not exist.

If I'm wrong, can you kindly tell me where I'm wrong?

Do you find yourself hungering for more or are you drifting away? do a little soul searching. Don't be afraid to ask for prayer and get your self a Bible partner. Like love, sharing the Word of God causes it to grow in you.

So are you growing or fading?

We fight the world the flesh and the Devil. There are so many wondrous things to drag us into the pit. It is so hard not to be a lover of this world.

Be not deceived. Let us pray for each other.

And why do you think they suspend accounts when people get to level 6?
Is Yahoo so chintzy with the points, that they hate to let too many people get them?

Last year there was an argument at my school started by a veteran at the program we had on Veterans day, and he demanded we prayed, but the principle said we can not because of the separation of church and state (I'm with my principle). Who do you think was right? By the way, this is a public school.

I do not agree with many of the ideals of most religions, and most religious people don't agree with most of the ideals I live by. Although we disagree, we are human (more or less) and have a limited time learn and grow. As my health begins to fade more rapidly I feel that anything that evokes thought is worthwhile, even if it is done through somewhat devious means. I will continue to toss out questions that only make sense to me, or questions that are controversial, because they tend to provoke thought, and through thought knowledge and understanding. We all need to consider that everyone here is a person, with the same feelings and cares as everyone else. We also need to consider that in some cases, people actually have a lot riding on the answers received here. Though it is a good distraction for some of us, try to keep in mind that it is based on learning from each other. Answer honestly, Question often, and don't be afraid to have a good time.
Thanks for your time and opinions.

Jesus, the founder of Christianity was not Christian. No he was not atheist and although he was Jewish and got some of his inspiration there, his teachings came from inside of him and his heart therefore proving people CAN come up with good values without religion. If religion determines completely if one has morals values and no one can think them up on their own, then wouldn't every Jewish person at that time be a great as Jesus was? Also, Judaism came from people who also thought up their own morals from what they thought was right.
