i would choose Islam. they are the only ones who are actually personally affecting me in a negative way. killing my uncle in the 9/11 attacks and my brother overseas (suicide bomber). the atheists, sure, i don't agree with them, but they studied and concluded what they believe and i respect that. same with Hindus. actually, on yahoo answers is the only time i even came across atheists and hindus. so they don't bother me. but if you could pick 1 religion in the entire would that you had the power to just wipe out completely, what would it be and why?

I am 55. When I was a child, we had milk delivered to our house every morning, women could not get credit in the name only; had to be co-signed by their husbands (what did single women do?), diapers were not throw-away, and the grocery stores were real small (the buildings still stand; but no longer grocery stores; usually auto part stores inside now). Except for computers, color tv, and fm radio, not much else changed over the years. What is different now for you, vs back then?

Please don't say cell phone. That is still a phone. They were on walls back then.

How can you not be terrified by this? Is God to blame for the sensationalist media and the human mind that reacts to sensationalism? Is God to blame for making the Great White?

Out of curiousity are the two related or similar? I know that each has a different founder, but am curious to what their beliefs are and why they seem so secretive. I believe Kirsty Alley, John Travolta, and Tom Cruise are apart of Christian Science. Any clarifications?

Why did God accept this human burnt offering? Why would anyone (Jephthah) make a promise to God to sacrifice the first thing that would come out of the door of his house to meet him? What did he expect to come out besides a human?

This may get a bit wordy, so please excuse that...
I was thinking this morning, how are people and animals alike? How are we different?
Now, I know that people are animals, mammals, primates. So what separates us from different species? An extra fold or two in our brains? Opposable thumbs? A face conducive to speech? Could it be morals? Do other animals have morals?
I know that animals have behaviors based on instinct, the instinct being what is best for survival of the species. Those that don't follow the rules are outcast, or killed, removed from the gene pool...which got me thinking about prisons, mental institutions, and why people are removed from society. Because they behave in ways that are not beneficial to the pack. Which sounds an awful lot like morality.
This made me realize that when you question a person's morality, it's so offensive because you are questioning their suitability to be part of the people pack. Their suitabilty to reproduce, to be.
Thoughts?

I'm buying my father a Harley Davidson commemorative Rivet for Christmas for the wall they are building, but I have no idea what to put on it! Any suggestions? It has to be 2 or 3 SHORT lines, and I'm trying to think of something funny, but sweet would work too. Thanks!

Blame the Parent!! Birth Defects are result of parental neglect. Mother chooses to wine, smoke and unhealthy diet...Father is equally to blame.
Child is born with defect...OH its GOD's fault!!....Yeah blame it on GOD for wrong doings....and keep friends sympathizing with you...That is sick....Every thing we consume has side effects...from medication to alcohol....so please get real!!

people keep asking how God can send someone to hell for doing what they do, answer this copy-paste I have set below

understand this, if you have kids, they as small kids mess up and you correct them. They grow a little bit and start to argue with you about how they are right, but you see it differently.

why would you expect to see things from God's perspective about right and wrong and punishment when you can't see things from your parents perspective when you are a child and definately of the same nature and essence as your parents.

what are your thoughts on the perspective of things from the two stand points

I work in a petrol station, affiliated to the Co-op. The Co-op Supermarket has been rebuilt, opposite us, following a fire last year. They have produced vouchers on a flyer for 4 weeks. If you spend £50 you get £6 off. Total vouchers £24!
The New store opens on 13th Nov but since 7th Nov, Tescos have been accepting, up to 7 vouchers, for each transaction meaning if you spend £43 and use 7 vouchers, you get the whole lot for £1!. We have been giving out the flyers in the garage and people have been buying 10p sweets,
going out and coming in to buy 10p sweets and going out etc. just to get the vouchers. 'cos it's one flyer per costomer.
Apparantley Tescos is 'heaving' It takes an hour to park and another hour to buy 2 articles and get out! How mad is that?
