One of the things Martin Luther protested against was selling indulgences. The example below is an example that was taught during the time of Luther. Do Catholics truly believe they will spend that long in purgatory? If not why did doing this get you out of so many years in purgatory?

For example, on All Saint Day, Christians viewing the relics accumulated by Frederick the Wise in Luther's town of Wittenberg and paying the necessary indulgences could reduce their purgatory stay by 1,902,202 years and 270 days.

(Please read throughly!)

Lets look at the concept of Heaven...

-In Heaven, you get to live forever.
-In Heaven, you never get diseases or sickness.
-You can meet and still see your loved family and friends.
-Your fond pets (dogs and cats) will be there.
-No war, suffering, hatred, racism, starvation, etc.

So lets say that when you die, the concept of Heaven is the BEST possible thing to happen to you, because you want everything in the concept of Heaven to happen. If you believe in Heaven, you take life for granted, correct? I believe humanity created the concept of Heaven for their benefit. Here's an example:

It's World War II, and your brother is forced to go to war. You love him so much, and you worry about him all the time. One day, you recieve a letter that he died shortly after a bombing. Would the concept of Heaven help ease the suffering of you? You can think to yourself everyday that he'll be in Heaven, waiting for you to return to him.

And then have only a handful of men to spread that news throught the planet? Like you would listen to some crazy on the street come up telling you something you have never heard before and believe it? Seems a very, very illogical way for an omnipotent being to go about providing the truth. Really makes no sense at all.

So what does this mean? Was the universe already out there? Or was the author referring to the Heavens as the Universe? This seems to be a logical assumption. What do you think?

I was violently molested when I was 12 and since then I have fought continually with being bi-sexual, mostly in my thoughts.I began to despise men after the incident and have had a hard time wanting to be with any of them ever. I feel safer around girls and find them so beautiful but I know this attraction is from a man molesting me.Ive been thinking of " coming out " as bi-sexual and giving up the struggle to be pure. Please pray for me and any wisdom I would love to hear. Please no " see a counselor " advice. I tried it many times. It sucks and doesnt work.

What do you think about polyamory?

I am not polyamorous, but I respect that some people are, and that's totally fine with me. But I do have some reservations, and it's making me feel like a bigot.

Again, I respect that some people are polyamorous, and while I'm ok with people having polyamorous relationships, I don't think that there should be polygamy. This makes me feel like a bigot because the reasons I use are similar to the reasons that people use to oppose gay marriage... and I definitely believe that gays should be allowed to marry.

Basically, I do not think that polygamy should be legal because it would make legal proceedings very difficult, and a large conglomeration of people who are all married to each other could make a lot of problems. (If there are four people who are married to each other and one is ill, how do the other three share power of attorney?)

Part of me wants to be accepting, because almost everyone at my LGBTQ group is and I feel like I'm missing some

I just saw Zeitgeist and was amazed at the number of paralell stories that were lifted by Biblical scribes. I knew about the story of Gilgamesh and have see words attributed to Jesus spoken in the Bhagavad Gita much earlier. But I was amazed at the exact references to Christ appearing over and over in other religious texts.

I am a Christian but it bothers me how the followers must go by "faith." Almost all religions follow this and you're not allowed to question the religion, are they trying to make you blind to everything else?
