I am a Catholic, and am not offended.
If you are going to wear a necklace with St. Michael, at least know this prayer;
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, oh prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Divine Power of God, cast into hell Satan, and all evil spirits, who roam about the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

First of all, why would you wear a necklace with St. Michael if you're not a Catholic. As a Catholic, it wouldn't offend me. But you need to know the meaning behind it. Saints are not worshiped by Catholics. They are prayed to so that they can pray for us to help us go to heaven. St Michael helps in our daily battle with the Devil. We pray to St. Michael to defend us in our battles with the Devil. You can go ahead and wear the necklace but understand the meaning behind it.

I dont wear it to worship it- i wear it to show my faith in Jesus and how proud I am to be a Christian. So since im not a Catholic should I take the necklace off?

I myself, being a Catholic, would not be offended and I can't imagine others being offended by it.
As Catholics, we pray to God in the name of Christ. We also can ask the angels and saints, who are more alive than ever, in heaven, to pray for us and everyone on earth, Catholic or not.
As somebody else already mentioned, I think it is awesome that you have seen past the misconception that many others hold about Catholics and their relationship with the saints. The saints are for everyone, and they do not just pray for Catholics...they pray for everyone. Wearing it, or asking St. Michael to pray for you on the job, is like asking a friend or family member to pray for you. So, if you would like to wear it, then definitely do so.
May God bless you with your endeavors and may He always guide you and protect you in your work as a Law Enforcement Officer.

I can't speak for all Catholics, but I doubt very many of us would have a problem with that. In fact, I think it's wonderful that you're interested in St. Michael!
Don't just stop at wearing his medal, though. Do some research on his role as protector of the Church and his patronage of those in law enforcement. Say a small prayer every day, asking for his intercession and his protection through the loving mercy of God. Here's a favorite prayer of many police officers:
"Holy Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen."
God bless you and your work in law enforcement!

i don't think so... i'm catholic, and i wouldn't be offended in the least! it's cool that you like stuff different from your religion, and anyways, Catholocism is a branch of Christianity-- like Methodists or Bapitists or Epicopalians. we all believe pretty much the same stuff when you get right down to it: God is the one true God, Jesus is his son sent down from heaven, et cetera. and if you're wearing the necklace to support the military (or along those lines), then go for it and just ignore what some odd person might say. they are DEFINITELY part of the minority of Catholics who would be offended.

I am catholic and I wear a Jewish star. The Jewish faith has beautiful symbols. Saint Michael is a archangel and has alot of pull with the lord. We are all Christians and I'm sure no one in this day and age would mind. Good Luck with your Carree and keep save wear your medal.

Not this one it wouldn't. Lots of people wear St. Christopher Medals or have them in their cars. If you are a Christian...you believe in God. The Saints and the medals are meant for everyone, not just Catholics. Wear it with pride! Have a star too!
