I am a Christian but it bothers me how the followers must go by "faith." Almost all religions follow this and you're not allowed to question the religion, are they trying to make you blind to everything else?

I believe in God and Jesus, but do not consider myself a christian for the reasons you mentioned. I don't believe for a minute that God works in mysterious ways, but rather we can't comprehend how God works. He is too complex for our simplistic way of thinking.

Yes, they are tying to make you blind to everything else. That is not the major thing though. Any organization wants it's members primary loyalty to be to them. So... beyond not wanting you to stray away there are other reasons. Such as the fact that they don't really have any answers. Let me be more specific they don't have any real answers. They are full of answers that follow a certain religion friendly template. The problem that you will find if you continue down the path that it sounds like you're on is that when they are backed in a corner it all comes down to faith. So basically you're own the right track. Don't give up and keep asking "Why?". Here is a good question to ask your pastor and any other scholarly Christian you know, you said you're a Christian, Why did God put Satan on Earth or Why is Satan on Earth? Think about it carefully yourself first. There are many easy religion friendly "answers" that you'll hear spouted off. But really think about them and know you're bible. Some places to look regarding this question are Job chp. 1, Gen. chp.1&2, and Rev. I think it's somewhere between 11 and 14. I don't have it in front of me now. There is a lot more to be said but I think this is enough for here.

Faith is the answer to all questions. How could it be wrong to ask them?

The problem is that faith isn't the answer for all questions for those who don't have it. When that is the case then the only question it is the answer to, that they will accept, or reject on their own is the question about where they will spend eternity.

Faith is the conclusion to the matter. Having faith gives you sight, "I once was blind, but now I see," while being deceived by unbelief makes a person blind.

Questionning is the beginning to enlightenment. Questionning demands answers. Answers must stand up to the light of truth.

That's how I became an atheist.

Some religions do not like questionning because it can lead to doubt and then to the loss of faith.

in order to answer this question you would also have to show the origins of religion and why it was made. Even as a Christian you must admit that religion was socially constructed. some say that people wanted power over others so they create religions... others say religion was made to explain the things we dont know....

so if i were to follow either of these things and question them it would result in.
1. The loss of power, money, etc
2. Dissagreements on "Facts"

Religion is an institution. Therefore it NEEDs you for it to survive. Without followers it will become obselete. To question things threatens the very foundations of the institution of religion.

I myself question everything....it is through questioning that we learn and grow and evolve and expand. Religion to me is limiting and exclusive. I choose Spirituality.

Jesus Himself questioned, and if we are to be like Him, we should question. I know no church that frowns on questions. We are to study to show ourselves approved. How and what will I study if I do not question? I question everything! We are to question all things and measure anything believed to be true by God's Word. IF it doesn't contradict Scripture, we then seek the truth of it in our lives through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

i would be unable to talk for each and all of the "significant patriarchal religions," i'm able to basically talk approximately Christianity in this. the undertaking isn't with the religion, yet with the guys (I won't deign to call them adult adult males) who run it and who choose for skill. Jesus advised Mary Magdalene to tell the disciples proper to the resurrection and so she grew to alter into the 1st bringer of the forged information. Jesus taken care of ladies people far extra ideal than the guys of his day, and interior the early church between the disciples noted with the aid of Peter replaced into Junia - which replaced right into a woman's call! women people prophesied interior the early church, yet by using fact many women people have been uneducated proper to the religion, they led to assorted noise during worship and have been advised to "shop silent in church" and to ask at abode if that they had questions. yet like the others have suggested, you have replied your individual question with the be conscious, patriarchal. Fellows would desire to needs be in can charge. genuine adult adult males can hear the fact from all and sundry, male or lady and are conscious of it for what it somewhat is.

what good is faith without any works? show me your faith and Ill show you my works. Id help the dying man while your faith would say yes theres a dying man, oh well. they dont like questions cause their answers wouldnt be scriptural but their intrepretation which is fallible. Jesus invites everyone to SEEK, AND TO KNOCK. why would they mind if you did that? that isnt scriptural.

I was taught as a child to always ask for yourself if things were true and to never ever rely on the testimony of others because it will be a very shaky one. I was taught to seek truth in all things, religious or secular. I was taught to get as much education as I can and to continually strive for more knowledge. I was taught that faith was a start but that we should be studying, praying, fasting and seeking for a testimony which is not just faith, but personal revelation from God that what you have faith in is actual truth.

Faith is a hope that what you believe is truth. A testimony is personal revelation from God that what you have faith in is indeed true. We should all be seeking our own testimonys of all truths, within your own religion, others, and the rest of the world.

In ISlam, you are encouraged to question and talk about things you do not know. Instead of asking for power or money, God Almighty orders His messenger to ask for an increase in knowledge. Thus we are commanded to do the same thing. Ask for knowledge.
