Would it make a different to your faith if God rested on a Saturday or a Sunday. Look at it this way, if day one was a Monday, then God rested on a Sunday but if Sunday is the first day then he rested on Saturday. In Biblical times the belief was that God probably rested on a Saturday and that was the belief that Sabbath was Saturday not Sunday.

From earliest Jewish tradition the Sabbath day was Saturday. Adam and Eve may have observed the Sabbath, but there is no direct record of it. This is the day in which God rested from making all things per the book of Genesis. Exodus 31:16-17 (and other places) establishes the Sabbath law for the Children of Israel. Most conservative and Orthodox Jews see Saturday as the Sabbath, although some see it running from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. The Hebrew word "yom" is used as a period of evening and morning, a 24 hour day. In the New Testament, the early church celebrated the day of our Lord's resurrection, which was the first day of the week, namely Sunday. (As recorded in John 20:1) Romans chapter 14 talks about some honoring one day above the next and others saying every day is alike. Either seems acceptable per ST. Paul's letter. We are not bound to the O.T. Levitical law. The important point seems to be that we put God 1st in our lives and set time aside to worship Him. (I recommend daily prayer and a devotion and church worship at least 1x/week)

God rested on the seventh day of the week - Saturday.
Whenever Christ appears in His resurrected form and the day is mentioned, it is always the first day of the week -Sunday (Matthew 28:1, 9, 10; Mark 16:9; Luke 24:1, 13, 15; John 20:19, 26). 2)

Saturday... The early Christians' Sunday assembly is in no way related to Sabbath or the law, and happened LONG before some CLAIM Constantine CHANGED the meeting day, as is clearly demonstrated in the writings of early Christians like Justin Martyr, whose 156 A.D. "First Apology" speaks of SUNDAY as the day of Christians major weekly assembly, about a century and a half BEFORE Constantine.
Read it for yourself at http://earlychristianwritings.com/ ...chapter 68 if I remember right.

On the Sabbath Day and he made it Holy for the Israelites...It was a day kept under the law..but Paul told us not to observe one day above another as Holy....we are to keep every day as holy to God...we must always worship God in everything we do...
We do set aside a day, usually Sunday,,,that is the day the early Christians got together.... to take up offerings for the poor and tithes for the Preacher and the upkeep of the church...not a commandment,,,but Christians do need to get together and lift each up,,pray for each other,,bring the sick to the church and anoint them with oil..and pray for their healing....that sort of thing...

On the 7th day, the Sabbath or Saturday. God looked around at all he had created & made the day holy that no man or animal should work on that day.

Hes rest on Sunday . All the other days hes laughing at us!
God fearing people have no sense of humor. I believe in God, but I also have a great time with him. You act as though you are all innocent and live strictly by the Bible, and I know it's not true. Noone is perfect! If you were you'd be doing something for your community instead of hanging out on yahoo answers.

That's a question I've often wondered. If he rested on the seventh day, wouldn't that be Saturday, as that is the seventh day of the week? That's be my guess but I'm not willing to take on the responsibility of changing it.

The seventh day. We arbitrarily decided to call Sunday or Saturday the "seventh" day.
