There has been some people in the past that had predictions about when the world will end...Most of them said that the world will end in the year 2012...Does anyone believe this?? I was watching the the history channel last night and most if not all of the prediction that those men had, came true through history. What do you think??

Hadhrat Isa (A.S.) himself told of the coming of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). In the Bible, Jesus (A.S.) says, If you love me, Keep my commandments. And I will pray to the Father and He shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever. (Bible, John 14-15/16)

But when the comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the spirit of Truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me, and he also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. (Bible, John 15-26/27)

I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now. How be it when he, the spirit of Truth will come, he will guide you into all truth, for he shall speak not of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that he shall speak, and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me, for he shall receive of mine, and he shall show it unto you.
(Bible, John 16-12/14)

Everyone says the Bible. So I ask, BESIDES the bible, what book (s) influenced you the most?

I have bought, read, and re-read dozens of books by Rev. John MacAurthur, and each one was precious and influenced me.

But I'm going to site a non-religious book that made me think more clearly on all subjects. I bought it when I was in university... "Logic and Contemporary Rhetoric". What is yours?

This is one man's list of the 100 Most influential Books in history...

Does anyone feel as flabbergasted by the miscommunication between whites and blacks? Just the lack of understanding, the ignorance from both sides. Are there people who really genuinely want to do something about it?

Or the so-called “leading of the holy Spirit?” Hasn’t this led to crazy interpretations? For example the justification of incest, slavery and the holocaust? The 30 years war between Catholics and Protestants, prejudices, more than 30,000 Christian denominations and the disunity of Christendom? Not to mention cults led by people like Jim Jones and David Koresh who tell their followers to commit suicide? Is this Christ’s way of uniting Christians following his prayer for all of us to be one? I certainly don’t think so.

Jesus prayed that His followers would be ONE.
"that they may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us..." (John 17:21)

St. Paul emphasizes that all followers of Jesus Christ should be ONE.
"Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement." (1 Co

Why NIV (New International version) of bible censored. Countless verses thrown from bible?
Please note that these are only WHOLE verses that the NIV deletes. This list does not include the many words and phrases that were completely deleted from the NIV--it deletes over 64,000 words including words like mercyseat, Jehovah, and Godhead. It removes meaningful, well-known Bible words like Calvary, Lucifer, new testament, regeneration, etc. Most of the modern Bibles line up very closely with the NIV--and so does the New World Translation--the Bible of the Jehovah's Witnesses which predates the NIV!
When you read below where I say that a verse is COMPLETELY deleted, I mean clean/bald-headed/gone/vanished deleted. For instance, if you search for Acts 8:37 in the NIV you will read,
36As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?"
38And he ordered the chariot to stop. Then both Philip and the eunuch went

And please for the love of god don't tell me the ten commandment are in some church in Ethiopia.

I am a Muslim, one who isn't that worthy of anything good in life to say the least. I have done other than what my religious texts command me to, and I feel I have not only failed God, but myself. I am apologetic in this sense, and by all means wish to redeem myself without I having a clue how. If you'd take up the decision to add me to your yahoo messenger to speak, it would be highly appreciated on my part.

It began hundreds of years ago, when the Church changed the Bible. . .

The "New Testament": Pagan revenge

Between G-d's own miracles and the Jewish teaching of His Word, the pagan priest/pastorhoods of Egypt, Greece, and Rome were steadily losing their power over the gentile populations. They decided to fight back by creating a new religion, one that would claim to be the fulfillment of the Hebrew "Old Testament," yet would bring back the pagan lies in a new disguise.

Thus the "New Testament" was written, in Greek rather than Hebrew, and attached to the original Hebrew scriptures to try to change their meaning back toward paganism.

The "New Testament" tried to change G-d from One, as in the Hebrew scriptures, into a "trinity" as in Egyptian cults or the eastern religions of Hinduism and Buddhism. It described Jesus as G-d in a human body, like the pagans always described Pharoah and other wicked kings. It declared G-d's Law to be a "curse" that no one can truly obey, announced that there must be a "mediator" between G-d and man, and pretended that salvation could now be achieved outside the Law.

To blind the gentile nations, the "New Testament" also warned people not to learn from the Jews, declaring that Israel no longer possessed the true, complete Word of G-d.

In the Bible, the book of Daniel warned of an evil power--a false religion--that would believe in the true "G-d of fortresses... plus a god its fathers did not know." This religion would "speak bizarre words about the Most High, wear out the holy ones (the Jews), and plan to change the festivals and the religious Law."7 The Christian Church has indeed replaced Passover with Easter (the pagan holiday of Astarte and Ishtar) and Hanukah with Christmas (the pagan winter holiday).

As a Christian, I've been dismayed by conflicting comments about "faith" in general, & I feel the need to make the following observation (not my own words): "It's not that Christianity has been tried, & found lacking -- It's just that it's been found difficult, & left untried." Your thoughts?

i.e. the good samaritan. if chosen by god asked for my help, i would do everything i could to help him. if one of the roaming trolls on r/s asked me, i would help them. but, here it is. i get e-mail, ALL the time asking me to help convert that person from the edge of christianity to atheism. i will not do this. i do not want to convert anyone. i want everyone to pick up a book, and that would include religious, scientific, artistic and musical books, and read. that would be , and is, my art of persuasion. decide for yourself. but, what if fireball e-mailed you and asked for help. would you help her? i would. without question. and I would not try to convert them, as many of my pagan, christian and witch friends may know by now. how about you?

If you don`t you probably should. Since Osiris, Isis, Horus - are all apart of christian mythology. Most of the essential ideas concerning Christianity comes from the ancient Egyptian Gods.

Talk about copyright infringement.

I'd like it to look like http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e356/tecktight/102400619_Tree_of_Restoration.jpg

Its not for Halloween, I have plenty of time to work on it. But what material would I make the main body parts and the branches from? And the costume couldnt be one piece so I'd have to connect it in parts I suppose. I'd like it to look 3-D and realistic (So not entirely made out of cloth).
Thanks everybody!
