I am just curious what kind of events urge people to turn to God! I love hearing these kind of stories....

God definitely got my attention! I was in a really bad car accident and almost lost my life...That was a huge wake up call to me that there was a higher power out there...because I should have died... Ever since then I have been going strong as a Christian!!!
I wonder why some of the people who question everything don't turn to God...because he has answered so many questions for me...
Thank you for answering! :)
God Bless

I was pretty much an atheist too, but I found myself in a real bad situation and asked him that if he was real could he help me get out of it. This was a sincere request not one of those goofy atheist prove it to me God questions. and then over the course of one week things changed dramatically and then he had my attention. Then I looked into it further, it took a long time and years of backsliding but now I see Him in so many things that happen to me. I feel for people who don't know that he is real. I understand atheism though, it really does make sense, but that doesn't make it true. We didn't know about two entire continents until 1492, we didn't know galaxies existed till the 1920's. I often say "its obvious that there is no God, what's not obvious is that there is." I'm not impressed by an atheist that states the obvious and then quits looking. thats being closed minded on the single most important question you'll ever have to answer. But you don't even sincerely look. Not really. I honestly don't think you want to look into it . now whose being self-righteous, hypocritical and close-minded. I don't mean that in a malicious way. I have friends that are atheistic and I never discuss God with them unless they ask me first and even then I do it in a rational, courteous way, but I'm dismissed even if they like my arguments, it still goes in one ear and out the other. I don't believe they want a God, even if he does exist and they were finally convinced.

I became born again exactly as Jesus was telling Nicodemus in John Chapter 3. Whilst we are all born physically, no one is "born a Christian" as after we are born physically, we must then experience the new (spiritual) birth. Salvation is a free gift from the Lord and can only be appropriated by faith in Jesus Christ. it does not happen any other way. In my case, the Holy Spirit prompted me because I was living a "normal" life (normal by the world's standards) I was drawn to Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit and I believed in Him and at that point became born again. Jesus Himself said that "no man comes to Him except the father in heaven draw him, and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out" This is exactly how it happened to me and is perfectly in line with the Scriptures. Salvation will be given to anyone who wants it as it's for "whosoever" What stops anyone from claiming their free gift of eternal life today? Mainly the fact that for many it's too easy and there must be more to it than faith. Not so says the Bible, Ephesians 2:8-9 blows away the idea that our works play any part in God's plan of salvation. Our works have nothing to do with it. It's all God's plan, all His work, all His promises therefore He is in control of our salvation and that means we don't have to "hang on" to anything. Consider the diferent people who were saved in the New Testament! The apostle Paul was saved when he was on his way to persecute more Christians, the Philippian jailer was saved, the woman at the well, the woman caught in the act of adultery, all these people were saved in their sin. This clearly shows that the Lord doesn't tell us to go away firstly and clean up our life and then come back and he will save us then. No! We are all saved there and then and then the process of sanctification begins which is the process by which the Holy spirit works on the believer to make him/her into a reflection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I was born into a Catholic family, I was baptized as a baby, I went to religious education classes from 1st grade all the way through junior year of high school, and then I was confirmed. The end. Oh, and somewhere in there I decided I liked it too, so I keep going. :)

I used to be a atheist until having a experience with the Holy Ghost, it wasn't suppose to happen, it wasn't suppose to be real, but it happened and it was real.

I never turned to God because I already have an imaginary friend of my own.
